  • Each visitor to MarchReport.com presently generates 3.5¢ in revenue, based on ad revenue and reader donations received over the last year.

  • In order to generate an annual revenue of $43,000,000, we need achieve only 1,228,571,428.57 visits annually (15% of what Drudge gets). If we achieve less, we make less; If we achieve more, we make more. I expect the percentages to remain constant.

  • In order to raise our number of unique visitors, we need to launch an inexpensive dusk-to-dawn radio campaign on two 50,000 watt clear channel news-talk stations that carry right-of-center talk programs (such as Limbaugh, Hannity, Levin, et al.), one east of the Rockies and one West, and low-cost local cable-tv cut-in ads on national news networks.

  • Clearly, this is a no-brainer, yet those who manage some of the largest VC funds in the country, with billions of dollars under management, who have squandered millions upon millions of dollars on internet fads that have no chance of ever making a single penny in real earnings from the actual business, cannot seem to comprehend this. They would rather ramp up expectations for the latest, worthless fluff into a full blown 1630s Tulip mania con job, from which they will cash out well before the speculative bubble bursts. (Last stockholder is a rotten egg!)

  • This is solid. This produces revenue. Online news has become more popular than reading newspapers in the US; it is the third most popular form of news, behind local and national television stations, according to the Pew Research Center. 61% of those surveyed said they got their news online on a typical day, and that number is growing as newspapers and news magazines decline.

The Details

"Small opportunities are often the beginning of great enterprises." So said Greek statesman and orator Demosthenes.

In less than two years, MarchReport.com has gone from nothing to an international phenomenon. We are read in 142 countries around the world (see list below), our daily e-mail newsletter (separate and distinct from our smaller Yahoo group) has over half-a-million subscribers, and nearly 18,000 unique visitors come to our website per month (many of them daily), for a total of over 60,000 page views per month. Those visits translate into advertising dollars.

  • Have a look at these PDF files of our September, 2009 and October, 2009 system logs, to verify this, as the various ratings services drastically under-report our visitors, and none of their figures agree with the other such services. Our system-generated logs are the only accurate, objective view of our stats. In November, due to increasing traffic overwhelming our server, we had to add a mirror-site, MarchReport.net.

MarchReport.com serves an upscale audience, 84% of whom are over the age of 35, 56% male, 44% female. 53% of our readers earn in excess of $60,000 per year. 47% of our readers have graduated from college, with 17% having attended graduate school. A whopping 77% of these readers have added us to their "favorites" or "bookmarks."

AboutUs.org rates MarchReport.com in the top 1% of sites carrying shopping advertising, in the top 2% of Blogs, in the top 3% of sites carrying Advertising of all kinds, in the top 3% of sites selling books, in the Top 7% of sites related to selling Airfare Values, in the top 12% of sites related to Business Advertising, and so on. This has been accomplished by a disabled and homebound man who, though not yet a "seasoned citizen," does hear the siren's call of the 3 PM dinner special. He has 38 years of significant business management experience in the publishing and advertising industries (President of 2, VP of 1). The nature of that disability is not terminal, just personally inconvenient; and, it has not prevented him from working his usual 100 to 120 hour workweek, seven days a week, running two businesses. The home-bound phase of this illness, which initially occurred eight years ago, and had left him confined to a wheel-chair for five years, has about two more years left to run, after which time Mr. March will be able to resume normal excursions. March discusses this in detail in his Friday, October 30, 2009 podcast; the relevant portion starts 33 minutes into the 52 minute podcast.

No "newbie" to the internet, Robert Jay March was one of the earliest developers of commercial websites; in fact, in June of 1996, Internet magazine voted his own business website as one of the Top 50 Sites on the Internet, for "best design and content," and he won the Golden Web Award 3 years in a row (that streak stopped only when he stopped entering).

Throughout the mid-1990s, March was interviewed on radio stations around the country as an authority on the then-nascent internet. In an interview with Byte Magazine in January of 1996, which was published in the March 1996 issue, Mr. March predicted that e-commerce would become a bigger phenomenon than shopping from the Sears catalog. At that time, the statement was considered outrageous, yet less than five years later he was proven correct. MarchReport.com was designed with that same prescient knowledge and experience.

Every week, MarchReport.com receives fan mail such as the examples below:

Love you Robert March! I look forward each and every day to The March Report. I love your style of writing ... straight forward and professional and love the occasional humor! Quite honestly I do not watch the MSM anymore or go to their websites ... they disgust me to no end! Now if you only had your own news show on TV...one can dream! I have told so many about your website and will continue to do so! God Bless you for all you do!

Ursula S. posted this to our "blogged" ratings page:

The March Report is a refreshing break from the daily onslaught of the simplistic propaganda that seems to imply that Americans are all idiots. It is filled with critical thinking! (Do we remember what that looks like in print?!). Facts are allowed to be followed bipartisanly. That means that a fact has one side. Once a fact is established we do not have to confuse the issue with presenting "both" sides. The March Report is a credible source of news!

When we started MarchReport.com, it was based on a mathematical formula consisting of the sub-set of the number of visitors who visit our site and visit our advertisers times the rate we are paid for such visits yielding a specific amount of revenue [(a/v) × r = $]. The actual results exceeded our expectations, and this formula will continue to perform as proven as the number of visitors increase.

Since that time, we have acquired dozens of advertisers (most of them major national advertisers) who pay us to display their ads, regardless of whether or not anyone clicks on them. This was a happy accident that we did not expect this early in our development, and occurred as a result of the ad agency seeking us out, in the belief that MarchReport.com was a desirable site to place their ads. These ads pay between $0.10 to $1.00 per 1,000 impressions (pop-under ads pay up to $1.50 per 1,000 impressions); the more impressions, the more money.

In order to increase the number of visitors, and thus the revenue derived, capital is required to purchase advertising on talk radio, cable cut-ins, and public relations representation, as well as increase staffing so as to free up Robert Jay March to create more original content (text and podcasts), as well as leverage his prior radio background for on-air appearances on talk radio and cable news shows, all of which will result in drastically increasing the number of visitors we receive, and thus the revenue.

Having proven the viability of the concept, MarchReport.com is now looking for Angel or Venture Capital in order to execute a business plan that will reliably yield in excess of $49,000,000 in annual revenues within 3.6 years. This figure is not blue-sky, but is a mathematical certainty based on extrapolation of what has already been accomplished. And, most of that would go to the investors. In "Art of the Deal," Donald Trump said, "Money was never a big motivation for me, except as a way to keep score. The real excitement is playing the game." That's how Robert Jay March feels. His sole motivation is to make MarchReport.com bigger and better. Those who supply the funds to make that possible deserve the lion's share of the monetary returns; that's how Capitalism works, and ain't it grand!

Samuel Goldwyn once said, "I think luck is the sense to recognize an opportunity and the ability to take advantage of it ... The man who can smile at his breaks and grabs his chances gets on." An old Bulgarian Proverb says, "Seize opportunity by the beard, for it is bald behind." Donald Trump said it best: "Opportunities are never lost, just found by those who clearly see the power of trends and timing."

Obviously, we are not going to divulge our business plan on-line to unknown readers (Samuel Goldwyn also said, "A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's written on"). However, if you are interested in discussing this exciting opportunity with us, please call 518-456-2041, or send an e-mail to

(The e-mail address is not clickable, due to spam-bots), or fill out the contact form below. Given that we receive between 25,000 to 53,000 e-mails per day (yes, that is a real number), the use of this form is necessary in order to assure that you get immediate attention.

Given that the nature of any business partnership is essentially a loveless marriage, Robert Jay March will discuss the project (NOT a sales pitch), so that you and he can assess "compatibility" before releasing any confidential information. Think of it as a blind date; most don't work out, but when they do, they're marvelous!
