These communications reveal a trail of manipulation and concealment of data that would not support the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Claims that scientists suppressed data about global warming prompted the head of a British university's climate research center to step down pending completion of an investigation. Phil Jones, a professor and director of the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, will temporarily relinquish his post, the U.K. school said yesterday in a statement. Private e-mails from Jones were among thousands of correspondences between scientists debating climate change that were posted here last month. ...

The American and British scientists who control much of the UN's climate reporting through the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)have been caught manipulating the temperature records to make the 20th century appear warmer than it was (and preceding centuries cooler), leaving an exaggerated impression about how unique and dangerous our current climate is. They were also shown doing their level best to control the peer-review process at major scientific journals so those who disagreed with them were silenced. ...

The Chairman of the UN panel on climate change, the IPCC, says he wants an investigation into claims that scientists at the University of East Anglia (UEA) manipulated and then destroyed the raw data that forms the basis for nearly all reports into climate change -- including those from the IPCC itself. The Climategate scandal threatens to derail the upcoming Copenhagen Climate Conference as a growing number of people are now viewing claims of anthropogenic global warming with suspicion. ...

The next weather-science scandal may erupt right here in the United States. For nearly three years CEI, a free-market, public-interest organization, has pursued a series of Freedom of Information Act Requests intended to force NASA's climate-science division to hand over e-mails it says could reflect the same sort of pro-warming bias seen in the recent e-mails from the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of East Anglia University. One reason NASA's unresponsiveness is drawing attention: For years, the CRU stonewalled a request filed through the British information-act process, before information was "hacked" and posted on the Internet in November. "They have resisted and haven't wanted to turn anything over," CEI Energy and Global Warming Policy Director Myron Ebell says of NASA. "... So this looks like climate gate all over again to us." ...

nhofe, the senior Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, also said he plans to ask for an independent investigation into e-mails leaked from climate scientists that Inhofe said provide evidence that some researchers suppressed data and stifled dissent on global warming. "They're cooking the science," Inhofe said. "The same things that came out on these e-mails is what I said four years ago." ...

The criminals at the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) in England brazenly defend the indefensible. It is stunning to watch Michael Mann and Gavin Schmidt staring directly at the camera and denying the significance of their e-mails. It works because they used it to deceive the world. They know most won't understand the e-mails. They claim they're taken out of context. In context the fullness of their criminality is exposed. They claim there's nothing of consequence in the e-mails, but they're a litany of manipulation of, the data, the process, publications, peer review, and personal attacks. ...

Al Gore stood by his claim yesterday that the North Pole could be ice-free within five years, attracting a storm of criticism from scientists and sceptics alike. Wieslaw Maslowski, a climatologist at the US Naval Postgraduate School in California, on whose work Mr Gore based his claim that there is a 75 per cent chance that the North Pole will be completely ice-free within five to seven years, said that this was a misrepresentation of the information he had provided to Mr Gore's office. "Over the last two years we've learnt that it's very difficult to melt the oldest ice at the North Pole," said Professor Jim Overland, a leading oceanographer at the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. "It would be almost impossible for this to happen within five years." ...

Claims that human activity was, or was even capable of, measurably affecting the Earth's climate made little sense to begin with. For as far back as patterns can be reconstructed, the climate has always cycled between being warmer or cooler, wetter or drier, stormy or settled, and the changes observed during the industrial era have been well inside the swings that have taken place in the past. So there's no reason to suppose that anything, human-induced or otherwise, is affecting the climate abnormally. Compared to water vapor and the activity of the Sun, carbon dioxide plays a minor role in determining temperature, and the amount generated by Nature dwarfs anything that humans add. In any case, the times of rising temperature recorded over the ages have all happened first, not the other way around, so increases in CO₂ levels are a consequence not a cause. And even if humans were having the influence that has been claimed, the results would be overwhelmingly beneficial. Living things thrive in warmer environments, not frigid ones. Far more people die in winter from the effects of cold than from heat waves. Carbon dioxide is plant food, the basis of all life. Crops and flora of every kind grow more luxuriantly with a richer supply of it. The big advances in human civilization, reflected in the rise of cultures and times of elevated expansion and exploration, inventiveness, agriculture, artistry, and science, all occurred in warmer climatic periods. Anyone who is sincere about praising the virtues of a "green" planet should love it. ...

Offending data was massaged to fit the models to stave off questions and the losses they might reveal.  This video is a critique of catastrophic man-made global warming theory, based on presentation slides used in a series of public presentations and debates in late 2009 and early 2010. The revelations have been nothing short of jaw dropping. Dozens - yes dozens - of claims made in the IPCC 2007 report on climate change that was supposed to represent the "consensus" of 2500 of the world's climate scientists have been shown to be bogus, or faulty, or not properly vetted, or simply pulled out of thin air. We know this because newspapers in Great Britain are doing their job. Perhaps its time to ask why this story being revealed overseas with new revelations almost daily can't get any traction here. Blogs are keeping us informed of the latest from England but we hear crickets chirping when it comes to stories from major newspapers and (outside of Fox News) the cable nets. ...

The revelation will cause fresh embarrassment for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which had to issue a humiliating apology earlier this month over inaccurate statements about global warming. In its most recent report, it stated that observed reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa was being caused by global warming, citing two papers as the source of the information.However, it can be revealed that one of the sources quoted was a feature article published in a popular magazine for climbers which was based on anecdotal evidence from mountaineers about the changes they were witnessing on the mountainsides around them. The other was a dissertation written by a geography student, studying for the equivalent of a master's degree, at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps. ...

He is steadfastly refusing to go, but his position is becoming more and more untenable by the day, and the official climate science body will continue to leach credibility while he remains in charge. Four more have now been reported from the part of the latest IPCC report on Himalayan glaciers that contained the notorious -- and now withdrawn -- claim that they would disappear by 2035. And there are now reports that it erred in relying on an unpublished report in linking natural disasters like flood and hurricanes to global warming. All appear much less serious than the original Himalayan howler, but they add to the impression of sloppiness at the IPCC. ...

India's senior-most glaciologist V K Raina today said the chief of the UN climate body should apologise to the scientist fraternity for dubbing their work on melting of Himalayan glaciers as "voodoo science". Raina's demand comes even as the UN body, Intergovernmental Panel on Climate change (IPCC) headed by R K Pachauri, deliberates on retracting its statement on Himalayan glaciers melting. "The IPCC had dumped our report that the glaciers have not retreated abnormally. Now, with the truth out in open, the IPCC should dump its own report which was based on mere speculation." Two years ago the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a benchmark report that was claimed to incorporate the latest and most detailed research into the impact of global warming. A central claim was the world's glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035. In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCC's 2007 report. It has also emerged that the New Scientist report was itself based on a short telephone interview with Syed Hasnain, a little-known Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was "speculation" and was not supported by any formal research. ...

It would make us totally non-competitive in the manufacturing world, and China, Japan and India are laughing at America's stupidity.' ...

The academic at the centre of the 'Climategate' affair, whose raw data is crucial to the theory of climate change, has admitted that he has trouble 'keeping track' of the information. Colleagues say that the reason Professor Phil Jones has refused Freedom of Information requests is that he may have actually lost the relevant papers. Professor Jones also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now, suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon. And he said that for the past 15 years there has been no 'statistically significant' warming. ...

The doubts of Christy and a number of other researchers focus on the thousands of weather stations around the world, which have been used to collect temperature data over the past 150 years. These stations, they believe, have been seriously compromised by factors such as urbanisation, changes in land use and, in many cases, being moved from site to site. John Christy, professor of atmospheric science at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, a former lead author on the IPCC, has published research papers looking at these effects in three different regions: east Africa, and the American states of California and Alabama. "The story is the same for each one," he said. "The popular data sets show a lot of warming but the apparent temperature rise was actually caused by local factors affecting the weather stations, such as land development." ...

The UN climate change panel admitted Sunday to having imprecisely stated in a key report that 55 percent of The Netherlands is under sea level, saying that is only the area at risk of flooding. It was a new embarrassment for the panel. The same 938-page Fourth Assessment Report also contained an erroneous claim that global warming could melt Himalayan glaciers by 2035. ...

Very few history books considered the impact of weather, before it became a political issue. One was Barbara Tuchman's 1978 book "A Distant Mirror; The Calamitous Fourteenth Century." It used the life of nobleman Enguerrand VII de Courcy, whose life spanned the entire century, to compare the 14th century with late-20th century Europe. Weather wise it was a transitional century as the world cooled from the Medieval Warm Period (MWP) to the Little Ice Age (LIA). As the average location of the Arctic air front moved inexorably toward the Equator the Jet Stream meandered further north and south so temperature and precipitation fluctuated widely from year to year. It also resulted in more blocking systems so that instead of weather patterns changing on a 4 to 6 week cycle in the middle latitudes they became prolonged to 12 weeks and longer. This meant in many years it became difficult to tell summers from winters. ...

In conversations with a physicist involved in studying the effect of nuclear explosions on the upper atmosphere I was amazed to learn he did not know the tropopause was at different altitudes between the poles and the equator. This is so fundamental that it is impossible to imagine him finding out anything meaningful about radiation distribution in the atmosphere. Some have a better understanding of the structure of the atmosphere, but it is still inadequate to draw any conclusions about what is happening to temperatures, gases, energy distributions or anything else fundamental to understanding climate change. It is also inadequate as the basis for building computer models used to predict future climate. ...

In a forthcoming issue of the journal Global and Planetary Change, researchers from the University of Auckland in New Zealand and the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission in Fiji documented changes in 27 vulnerable, low-lying reef islands in the Central Pacific. Using aerial photographs taken as early as 1944, the areas were carefully mapped and compared with modern satellite images. It turns out that the islands did, in fact, change over time, but they are hardly sinking. Overall, 20 grew or remained stable. The island of Funamanu, for example, expanded from 7.4 acres to 9.5 acres in size -- a 28 percent growth. Only seven islands shrunk, with the biggest percentage change occurring on Tengasu, which dropped from a tiny 1.7 acres to 1.5 acres -- a diminishment of 9,670 square feet, the size of Mr. Gore's Tennessee mansion. ...

"Global warming is over-at least for a few decades," geologist Don Easterbrook, professor emeritus from Western Washington University told the Heartland Institute's Fourth International Conference on Climate Change on May 19. He warned, however, us not to rejoice. Colder winters kill twice as many people as hot weather while crop production suffers from shorter growing seasons and weather-disrupted harvests. Current data seem to support Easterbrook's prediction of an end to global warming, at least for the next three decades. Since 1998, atmospheric CO2 has continued to increase-but total solar activity, as measured by satellites, has declined sharply after trending strongly, but erratically, upward for 150 years. ...

The vast difference between the maximum heat and minimum ice age weather cycles on the surface of the earth cannot be accounted for by any solar or atmospheric variables. In fact, there is another force that renders even short-term climate forecasts inaccurate. That force is the enormous Geo-Nuclear, heat producing fission reactions of the heavy elements that form the earth's core. Mankind can neither predict nor control this force and is just as powerless to control the volcanoes, earthquakes and ice ages that are the results of variations in this geo-nuclear force. The 11,000 degree F temperature at the earth's core is not caused by gravity, by solar radiation or by atmospheric insulation. Legislative efforts to modify weather with miniscule changes of parts per million of carbon dioxide, a benign, life giving molecule, will soon be recognized as the most naïve misinterpretation of earth science since the world was flat. ...

Gore has spent "$8,875,000 on an ocean-view villa on 1.5 acres with a swimming pool, spa and fountains... The Italian-style house has six fireplaces, five bedrooms and nine bathrooms." This is in addition to the 10,000 square-foot mansion that he and Tipper own in Tennessee. A few years ago, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research reported that Gore's home burned more electricity in one month than the average Nashville home uses in a year. ...

Humans are too stupid to prevent climate change from radically impacting on our lives over the coming decades. This is the stark conclusion of James Lovelock, the globally respected environmental thinker and independent scientist who developed the Gaia theory. "I don't think we're yet evolved to the point where we're clever enough to handle a complex a situation as climate change," said Lovelock in his first in-depth interview since the theft of the UEA emails last November. "The inertia of humans is so huge that you can't really do anything meaningful." One of the main obstructions to meaningful action is "modern democracy", he added. "Even the best democracies agree that when a major war approaches, democracy must be put on hold for the time being. I have a feeling that climate change may be an issue as severe as a war. It may be necessary to put democracy on hold for a while." ...

The rapid loss of public credibility over all the errors has also accompanied numerous calls by prominent voices for official inquiries and even criminal investigations. Several universities involved have already launched reviews. And even previous IPCC chief Professor Robert Watson, for example, is calling for a probe to investigate "warming bias" by the UN panel. "The mistakes all appear to have gone in the direction of making it seem like climate change is more serious by overstating the impact. That is worrying," he told the U.K. Times Online. "The IPCC needs to look at this trend in the errors and ask why it happened." The UN will indeed launch an "independent" inquiry, but critics generally expect a coverup. U.S. Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) went further, proposing criminal investigations to determine if alarmists violated any laws. A Senate report produced for Inhofe's Environment and Public Works Committee concluded that, among other problems, "scientists involved in the CRU controversy violated fundamental ethical principles governing taxpayer-funded research and, in some cases, may have violated federal laws." Similarly, British authorities were investigating possible criminal activity by Climategate scientists who refused to provide documents and data under lawful Freedom of Information requests. The scientists may reportedly escape prosecution under the FOI law because of a six-month statute of limitations. ...

Meteorologist Piers Corbyn seems to get it right about 85 per cent of the time and serious business people (notably in farming) are starting to invest in his forecasts. He looks at the flow of particles from the Sun, and how they interact with the upper atmosphere, especially air currents such as the jet stream, and he looks at how the Moon and other factors influence those streaming particles. He takes a snapshot of what the Sun is doing at any given moment, and then he looks back at the record to see when it last did something similar. Then he checks what the weather was like on Earth at the time, and he makes a prophecy. Piers Corbyn believes that the last three winters could be the harbinger of a mini ice age that could be upon us by 2035, and that it could start to be colder than at any time in the last 200 years. He goes on to speculate that a genuine ice age might then settle in, since an ice age is now cyclically overdue. ...

It is time for the U.S. government to acknowledge that a climate mafia has existed since the gathering in Kyoto, Japan, to establish the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The December 11, 1997 treaty was, upon ratification, to go into force on February 16, 2005. Its expressed purpose was to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions for the purpose of avoiding "global warming," but its real purpose was to create an entirely bogus system of emissions trading to be known as "the carbon market." On July 25, 1997, the U.S. Senate, responsible for the ratification of international treaties, unanimously passed (95-0) a resolution rejecting the Kyoto Treaty on the grounds that it "would result in serious harm to the economy of the United States." As this is written, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is striving to secure authorization to regulate GHG emissions despite massive evidence that they pose no threat to the environment and despite the fact that this authority would, as in 1997, cripple and likely destroy an already ailing economy. ...

Obama's Science Czar John Holdren is worried about global warming. Having noticed that there hasn't actually been any global warming since 1998, he feels it ought to be called "global climate disruption" instead. That way whether it gets warmer or colder, wetter or drier, less climatically eventful or more climatically eventful, the result will be the same: it can all be put down to "global climate disruption." And that will be good, because it will give Holdren the excuse to introduce all the draconian measures he has long believed necessary if "global climate disruption" is to be averted: viz, state-enforced population control; a rewriting of the legal code so that trees are able to sue people; and the wholesale destruction of the US economy ("de-development" as he put it in the 1973 eco-fascist textbook he co-wrote Paul and Anne Ehrlich Human Ecology: Global Problems And Solutions). ...

 On Friday, August 27th, 2010, Sean Hannity aired a report on Fox News titled "The Green $windle," about how concern for the environment turned into global warming hysteria and a multi-billion dollar industry that capitalizes on that fear. ...

The Lamb graph (a graph of northern hemisphere temperatures produced by Hubert Lamb) and its source were problematic for the people at the CRU who were also on the IPCC. It showed the 20th century was not the warmest temperatures ever and triggered the email Professor Deming received from a CRU member saying, "We have to get rid of the Medieval Warm Period." It appears Michael Mann's research with the complicity of others was designed to achieve that goal. They launched a campaign to discredit extensive evidence from a multitude of sources of the existence of the MWP. This included deliberate efforts by John Holdren, Obama's current Science Czar. ...

Especially interesting it the sudden disappearance of Obama's plan to commit $150 billion on clean energy research and development. Also gone is any clear pledge to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions via his formerly touted cap and trade legislative efforts. For instance, the section once titled "Closing the Carbon Loophole and Cracking Down on Polluters" is now vanished down the memory hole. ...

Professor Richard Muller, of Berkeley University in California, and his colleagues from the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperatures project team (BEST) claimed to have shown that the planet has warmed by almost a degree centigrade since 1950 and is warming continually. A leading member of Prof Muller's team has accused him of trying to mislead the public by hiding the fact that BEST's research shows global warming has stopped. Prof Judith Curry, who chairs the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at America's prestigious Georgia Institute of Technology, said that Prof Muller's claim that he has proven global warming sceptics wrong was also a "huge mistake," with no scientific basis. Prof Curry said, the project's research data show there has been no increase in world temperatures since the end of the Nineties. ...

Dr. Roy Spencer, a team leader for NASA's Aqua satellite, studied a decade's worth of satellite data regarding cloud surface temperatures. "The satellite observations suggest there is much more energy lost to space during and after warming than the climate models show," he writes. "There is a huge discrepancy between the data and the forecasts that is especially big over the oceans." By cross-examining data with other Climate Change models, he concluded that carbon dioxide is just a minor part in global warming. His studies have garnered media attention and that the data are going against the beliefs of global warming alarmists by disproving their theory. ...

Since the late 1980s a "consensus" of scientists, we were told, agreed that the Earth was in a period of "global warming" and anybody who disputed that was a "skeptic" or a "denier." Then, in 1998, the Earth began to cool. The handful of scientists at the heart of the global warming hoax began to sweat and not from the heat, but because they knew their scheme, created and blessed by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) would soon be revealed. Frantic emails went back and forth as they tried to come up with some way of keeping the lie alive. NOAA posted the following article at its Climate Watch magazine: "This is the second consecutive very wintry winter in the eastern United States. Last year, NOAA climate scientists concluded the record-breaking snowstorms most likely resulted from the combination of two natural climate patterns: El Nino and the Arctic Oscillation. So what about this year? Last winter's El Nino has flipped to La Nina, as temperatures in the eastern tropical Pacific have been cooler than normal. But the Arctic Oscillation seems to be in a repeat pattern, with conditions this December and January very similar to last winter, according to Deke Arndt, Chief of the Climate Monitoring Branch at NOAA's National Climatic Data Center." Not at all surprisingly, the man that just this past Friday accused Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and the Wall Street Journal of being part of a conspiracy to mislead people about the dangers of manmade global warming was once again guilty of it himself. ...

In 2007, the U.N. said the Himalayan glaciers will be gone by 2035 due to man-made global warming. Turns out, though, that the claim was nonsense. It was not based on scientific research but on one scientist's guesswork, which was lifted from a telephone interview. New research indicates that half of the glaciers in the Himalaya's Karakoram range are advancing. Scientists from the University of California Santa Barbara and the University of Potsdam, who cited "erroneous reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change," strongly suggest that the "settled" science is not so clear. ...

The "consensus" on 'Climate Change' exaggerates the number of scientists who believe in Man Made Global Warming and it grotesquely underestimates the number who have many good reasons for suspecting that there is far, far more to "Climate Change" than anthropogenic CO2. What's more such "consensus" as there is is an artificial construct. It has not been subjected to the rigour of an open or even semi-open market. It is the creation, almost entirely, of politically-driven funding from US government, from various UN bodies, from the EU, from left-leaning charitable foundations on a scale unprecedented in the history of science. So far, in real terms, no less than five times the amount of the Manhattan Project has been squandered on research into AGW.
