Richard Marcinko was the first commanding officer and founding father of the premier counter-terrorist unit. Marcinko is the author of the book, "Rogue Warrior," which, according to Library Journal, is "An autobiography of a career naval officer who dropped out of high school, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, and spent his ca reer struggling to win acceptance for special warfare SEAL (sea-air-land) units within the Navy establishment from the late 1950s to the present. Marcinko provides detailed descriptions of the early transformation of underwater demolition teams (UDT) into SEAL units." Thanks to "Multics" for bringing this book to our attention.
