Violent explosions on the sun erupt on a phenomenal scale -- one that envelopes the entire star -- and are linked by massive magnetic threads that stretch across hundreds of thousands of miles, a new study finds. Solar flares, coronal mass ejections and other dramatic solar storms can go off all at once across virtually the entire sun, a team of researchers announced Dec. 13. The discovery suggests scientists should expand their studies of space weather to go beyond looking just at isolated parts of the sun, as has been common in the past. "To predict eruptions, we can no longer focus on the magnetic fields of isolated active regions," said study co-author Alan Title of Stanford University and Lockheed-Martin's Advanced Technology Center in Palo Alto, Calif., in a statement. "We have to know the surface magnetic field of practically the entire sun." ...

Deprived by trial judge Col. Denise Lind of any opportunity to defend himself by introducing evidence or expert testimony, Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin, the Army doctor questioning Obama's eligibility, has been convicted on all counts. Lakin faces as many as 42 months in prison, forfeiture of pay and retirement benefits and dismissal from the service after being convicted of four felonies. ...

 In an interview with Peter Boyles on 630 AM KHOW radio in Denver, Colo., General Thomas McInerney, speaking of Lakin, said: "He is not a birther, he is a constitutionalist. Now, it shouldn't be the job of a lieutenant colonel and flight surgeon in the U.S. Army to be the constitutionalist. It's the job of the Congress and the executive agency to do that. US Army Colonel Denise R. Lind, the presiding judge in a lawsuit that questions Obama's natural born status and requests that the original birth certificate be presented as evidence when Judge Lind said "opening up such evidence could be an "embarrassment" to the president." So it appears that our United States Army, at least in the person of one Army Colonel Denise R. Lind, has placed in jeopardy the 18-year career of a highly decorated medical officer, Lt. Colonel Terry Lakin, over the supposed "embarrassment" of a very possible usurper in our nation's highest elected office who may not even be eligible to be there. Is this the sort of justice we will now be faced with in this once Land of the Free and Home of the Brave? ...

It may be shocking to many, but the birthplace of Obama is not the primary issue when considering natural born status. The Constitution requires in part that, "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President." A combination of citizenship and something more is required. The something more begins with parents who were United States citizens at the time of the candidate's birth. That's really a matter of common sense. Citizenship status of one's parents, it appears, is the primary consideration for natural born citizen status. ...

The Supreme Court has again cast aside an appeal that raised doubts about Barack Obama's U.S. citizenship. The justices without comment Monday rejected a challenge from Charles Kerchner Jr., a Pennsylvania man who sought a trial in federal court forcing the president to produce documents regarding his birth and citizenship. The linked story incorrectly states that "Obama and his staff produced copies of his birth certificate when he was running for president in 2008." What he produced was not a birth certificate, but a "Certification of Live Birth," a document frequently issued to non-citizens, as described in several articles in the Certifi-Gate pages of MarchReport.com ...

"This decision did not help Mr. Obama," attorney Mario Apuzzo said. "It did not bring legitimacy to his office. Mr. Obama does not have legitimacy of office by the court or by the consensus of the nation, because many people question whether he is a natural born citizen. How does our nation go forward with this kind of result?" "This matter should have been addressed by the media and political parties early in the spring of 2008 during the primaries. It wasn't," wrote retired Navy CDR Charles Kerchner. "Congress should have addressed this when asked and when constitutionally it was required to. It didn't. The courts should have addressed the merits of the questions when appealed to early on. They didn't. Everyone in our system of government chose appeasement over confrontation and punted the ball to someone else. Now it is far worse. The Supreme Court has chosen appeasement and inaction over action and dealing with the issue and questions openly in a court of law under the rules of evidence and law. Our constitutional republic and legal system is now compromised and broken." ...

The Supreme Court conferred today on whether arguments should be heard on the merits of Kerchner v. Obama, a case challenging whether President Barack Obama is qualified to serve as president because he may not be a "natural-born citizen" as required by Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution. "This case is unprecedented," said Mario Apuzzo, the attorney bringing the suit. "I believe we presented an ironclad case. We've shown standing, and we've shown the importance of the issue for the Supreme Court. There's nothing standing in their way to grant us a writ of certiorari." If the Supreme Court decides to grant the "writ of certiorari," it may direct a federal trial court in New Jersey to hear the merits of the case, or it may choose to hear the merits itself. ...

A Texas state representative on Tuesday filed a bill that would require any candidate for president or vice president of the United States to show his or her birth certificate to the Texas secretary of state, another indication of just how ambitious the conservative agenda for next year's session of the Texas Legislature is expected to be. "This bill is necessary because we have a president whom the American people don't know whether he was born in Kenya or some other place," Rep. Leo Berman, R-Tyler, said in reference to President Barack Obama and of House Bill 295. "If you are running for president or vice president, you've got to show here in Texas that you were born in the United States and the birth certificate is your proof." ...

The analysis by the Congressional Research Service, a research arm of the U.S. Congress, openly admits no one in the federal government, including Congress, ever asked to see Obama's long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate. It explains no one was required to do so. The CRS memorandum, published and distributed to congressional offices April 3, 2009, was written to explain to senators and member of the House how they could answer constituents who were demanding to see Obama's birth certificate. Authored by Jack Maskell, the legislative attorney in the American Law Division of the Congressional Research Service, the document was a memorandum written for the subject "Qualifications for the Office of President of the United States and Legal Challenges to the Eligibility of a Candidate." Maskell explained that he wrote it only for distribution to congressional offices, not for public distribution, and it was not posted on any of the CRS report sites where the public might have been able to find it. ...

A prominent lawyer who has argued several legal challenges to Barack Obama's eligibility to be president, including cases pending at the appeals level in both state and federal courts in California, is asking to join in a case already pending before the U.S. Supreme Court. The request is from Gary Kreep of the United States Justice Foundation to join the appeal by attorney Mario Apuzzo on behalf of his client, Charles Kerchner Jr. Kreep is seeking to file a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the Western Center for Journalism in support of Kerchner and the other plaintiffs. The Western Center covers a wide variety of topics and is training "citizen journalists" and bloggers, the request explains. So, the "issue of a candidate for president of the United States not being required to conclusively prove his or her birth status is of great concern ... because if the determinations of eligibility are left to the political parties, this will lead to candidates who clearly fail to meet the requirements." ...

 Attorney Philip J. Berg, a life-long Democrat, and member of the NAACP, has lead the charge that Barrack Obama, a/k/a/ Barry Soetoro is unqualified to be President of the U.S. for having failed to produce a birth certificate and other personal records that could prove or disprove that he is a natural born U.S. citizen, as mandated by the U.S. Constitution. ...

 The Presidential seal fell off Barack Obama's podium and clattered to the stage as Obama delivered a speech to a women's conference Tuesday. When he realized what happened, he quipped, "All of you know who I am." Yes, Mr. Obama ... indeed we do. ...

"As a medical officer and not a lawyer or constitutional scholar, LTC Lakin is not laying claim to be the sole arbiter of the president's constitutionality in attempting to determine, without any genuine evidence to make such a determination, the president's 'natural born' citizen status," the The American Patriot Foundation said. "The burden of proof rests solely on Barack Obama to demonstrate to the American people and to the U.S. armed forces that he commands, that he is lawfully serving in his current capacity as head of the executive branch of the federal government," the foundation said. Army prosecutors, along with the acting judge in the case, Denise Lind, have "made this determination of the commander in chief's eligibility under the Constitution impossible -- by denying discovery -- and essentially denying LTC Lakin the customary due process rights that defendants in American courts enjoy when facing criminal charges," the foundation elaborated. Earlier, the acting judge in the case, Denise Lind, ruled that nothing regarding Obama could be discussed during the trial. She noted at that time providing documentation on the president might prove "embarrassing" for him. ...

An Army judge has made it "impossible" for a career medical officer to get a fair hearing on charges he refused to deploy to Afghanistan because of concern that obeying orders in the chain of command under an ineligible commander in chief would be illegal, his attorney says. The rulings came today from Col. Denise Lind, who in so many words told Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin to pound sand. Rocks actually. He faces up to four years at hard labor if convicted in his case. "We got absolutely slammed today," said Paul R. Jensen, lead counsel for the defense. "It's impossible for us to have a fair trial under these rulings." In her decision, Lind, acting as judge in the case, censored the last remaining arguments Lakin planned to make in his defense: motive and duty. Lakin had intended to explain his motive for disobeying the order and contend that it was his duty as a good soldier to disobey orders that he believes to be illegal. The defense also planned to call as witnesses Ambassador Alan Keyes and retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney. Keyes was to explain the constitutional issues involved in the case, and McInerney was to talk about the training soldiers receive regarding when they should question and even disobey orders. ...

A military judge in Maryland has refused to order the release of school records that could include a copy of Barack Obama's birth certificate. Lakin's lawyer has argued that if Obama isn't a natural-born citizen, any military order given under his administration is unlawful ...

 LTC Terry Lakin has tried in vain to get the same verification from Barack Obama that he has been asked to provide countless times in his career, for many jobs, and to obtain a security clearance for the trusted positions he has held within the U.S. Armed Forces. ...

 Affidavit submitted by LTG Thomas G, McInerney, USAF (Ret.) explaining in detail why the actions of Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin were not only correct, but legally required of him, and why he entitled to evidence that Barack Obama is -- or is not -- a natural born citizen of the United States. ...

McInerney, who commanded forces armed with nuclear weapons, says the disclosure of Barack Obama's documentation proving his eligibility to be commander in chief is critical not just to the defense of an officer challenging Obama's status, but to the preservation of the nation itself. The general, who retired in 1994 after serving as vice commander in chief of USAF forces in Europe, commander of the 3rd Tactical Fighter Wing and assistant vice chief of staff of the U.S. Air Force, among other positions, said the chain of command issue is critical in today's world, since officers are obligated both to follow orders and to disobey illegal orders. "There can be no question that it is absolutely essential to good order and discipline in the military that there be no break in the unified chain of command, from the lowliest E-1 up to and including the commander in chief who is under the Constitution, the president of the United States. As military officers, we owe our ultimate loyalty not to superior officers or even to the president, but rather, to the Constitution." ...

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
