At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

YEST Possible New Mansion For Madonna

    Mavrix Online

Video Pop star Madonna is reportedly very close to purchasing the $11.9 million Tuscan-style Wellington, Florida mansion shown in this video. According to reports the price of the Wellington home is down from its original listing of $13 million. The eight-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot luxury property is situated on almost five acres of manicured, palm tree-lined land and is conveniently located beside an equestrian club. The home also features a backyard pool and lounge area, vast dining and living rooms and horse stables. Madonna is known to fancy the high-end sport of polo, so much so that she still rides even after falling off her horse twice (once in 2005 at her country home in England where she suffered three cracked ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken hand and again in 2009 at a Hamptons estate). ...

Brain Training Games Don't Train Your Brain

    Stewart Meagher -- Thinq (UK)

A new study has shown that brain training games do little to exercise the grey matter. The experiment, which was conducted by that august scientific institution the BBC saw more than 11,000 people using the games for six weeks as part of the broadcaster's annoyingly upbeat science slot Bang Goes the Theory. The participants were subjected to a barrage of cognitive test before and after the experiment but the study found that they showed no improvement when compared to a control group which just buggered about on the Internet. ...

Peddling Peril: How The Secret Nuclear Trade Arms America's Enemies

Reviewed by Jeremy Bernstein -- New York Review of Books

A great deal has been written about Pakistani metallurgist A.Q. Khan and his collaborators, but I have never found an account as detailed as the one in "Peddling Peril: How the Secret Nuclear Trade Arms America's Enemies," by the nuclear armaments expert David Albright. Albright holds master's degrees in physics and mathematics and has taught physics. For five years-between 1992 and 1997-he was part of the International Atomic Energy Agency's Action Team and in that capacity he spent time as a weapons inspector in Iraq. In 1993, he founded the Institute for Science and International Security, a nonprofit research organization based in Washington, D.C., of which he is president. In short, Albright is a perfect person to write a book like this.

Book Review: 'Hellhound On His Trail' By Hampton Sides

Art Winslow -- Los Angeles Times

A bestselling author reconstructs an assassin's life and the events leading up to the killing of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. James Earl Ray, the dodgy career criminal and escaped convict who murdered King and helped turn 1968 into the sad, tumultuous year that it was, is the man with the gun in Hampton Sides' Hellhound on His Trail: The Stalking of Martin Luther King, Jr. and the International Hunt for His Assassin. And yet there are hellhounds aplenty in Sides' book, notable among them George Wallace and J. Edgar Hoover.

New Biography Reveals Oprah's 'Hidden' Life

Jeremy Olshan -- New York Post

Oprah Winfrey -- who built a billion-dollar empire persuading everyone from celebs to average Joes to reveal the truth about themselves -- is a big phony when it comes to her own past, an explosive new book charges. Winfrey's relationship with longtime "love" Stedman Graham, her reputed dirt-poor upbringing in rural Mississippi, her rumored lesbian crushes on women such as Diane Sawyer -- all are stories she has manipulated for decades in the name of sensational ratings, according to writer Kitty Kelley's latest unauthorized biography "Oprah: A Biography." "Where Oprah got that nonsense about growing up in filth and roaches I have no idea," said a relative, Katherine Carr Esters. "I've confronted her and asked, 'Why do you tell such lies?' Oprah told me, 'That's what people want to hear. The truth is boring.'

From Cyber War: The Next Threat To National Security And What To Do About It

Richard A. Clarke -- Network World

"The entire phenomenon is shrouded in such government secrecy that it makes the Cold War look like a time of openness and transparency. The biggest secret in the world about cyber war may be that at the very same time the U.S. prepares for offensive cyber war, it is continuing policies that make it impossible to defend the nation effectively from cyber attack." click for an excerpt from Cyber War: The Next Threat to National Security and What to Do About It, a new book by ex-Presidential adviser Richard Clarke that explores the growing cyberwar threat and raises ideas about how to deal with it.

    Can Science Explain Heaven?

    Lisa Miller -- Newsweek

There are those who believe that science will eventually explain everything -- including our enduring belief in heaven. The thesis here is very simple: heaven is not a real place, or even a process or a supernatural event. It's something that happens in your brain as you die. The author of this article first encountered this idea when she was researching her new book, Heaven: Our Enduring Fascination with the Afterlife.

Hulk Hogan: "I Took Pills And Rum, Put A Gun In My Mouth And Thought, 'Pull The Trigger'"

    Simon Rothstein -- Sun (UK)

Hulk was once the man who had everything: a glittering grappling and TV career, gorgeous blonde wife and two kids who worshipped him. But in his new book, My Life Outside the Ring, the 56-year-old reveals how his world was turned upside down. Wife Linda, 50, divorced him after 23 years of marriage. Daughter Brooke, now 21, was refusing to speak to him, believing her mum's claims that he had cheated throughout the marriage. And worst of all son Nick, 19, was facing jail after leaving his best friend in a vegetative state in a car crash, for which some blamed Hulk's parenting.

Eleven workers are missing and presumed dead, and the cause of the blast has not been determined. Coast Guard Rear Adm.      China Searches For Answers After School Attacks

    Shirong Chen -- BBC (UK)

China is reeling from a surge of attacks on innocent children and the country is searching for answers while beefing up security for schools. China used to take pride in its low rate of violent crimes but now has to deal with them almost every day, leading many to ask what has caused the sudden surge of apparently random attacks. The wave of violence has been dubbed cases of "social revenge" in China. Ji Jianlin, a professor of clinical psychology at Shanghai's Fudan University, says the incidents share some common features. "The attackers all have grudges against society. They all try to take revenge by attacking the young and vulnerable," he says. ...

    Thai Police Clash With Protesters

Seth Mydans And Thomas Fuller -- New York Times

Antigovernment protesters clashed on Wednesday with security forces who fired their weapons in a short, sharp encounter on the edge of the city. One soldier was killed and at least 18 people were injured, according to the government-run Erawan Medical Center. The protesters, who mostly represent the rural and urban poor and whose demonstrations have paralyzed parts of the capital for nearly seven weeks, say they will not relent until the government of Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva resigns and holds a new election. At least 26 people have been killed in the protests. ...

First, a pivotal 1996 confrontation between Tiger Woods's father, Earl, and his early adviser John Merchant taught the young golfer the limits of trust. Then Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, and a posse of enablers showed him there were no limits-when it came to Vegas parties, high-stakes gambling, and beautiful women. It's counterintuitive, to say the least, that one part of Goldman could be taking "short" positions on some of the same mortgage-backed instruments that another part was making available to "long" investors. Indeed, the Securities and Exchange Commission has accused Goldman of civil fraud for allegedly selling a German bank, IKB, $150 million in mortgage-backed instruments without disclosing that the portfolio had been selected in part by John Paulson, a housing-market bear. Goldman denies the allegation, and barring a settlement, a court will have a chance to decide whether the SEC's case holds water. ...

    Krebs on Security

Google said that between January 2009 and the end of January 2010, its malware detection infrastructure found some 11,000 malicious or hacked Web pages that attempted to foist fake anti-virus on visitors. The search giant discovered that as 2009 wore on, scareware peddlers dramatically increased both the number of unique strains of malware designed to install fake anti-virus as well as the frequency with which they deployed hacked or malicious sites set up to force the software on visitors. Fake anti-virus attacks use misleading pop-ups and videos to scare users into thinking their computers are infected and offer a free download to scan for malware. The bogus scanning programs then claim to find oodles of infected files, and victims who fall for the ruse often are compelled to register the fake anti-virus software for a fee in order to make the incessant malware warnings disappear. Worse still, fake anti-virus programs frequently are bundled with other malware. What's more, victims end up handing their credit or debit card information over to the people most likely to defraud them. ...

The attacks that paralyzed Estonian internet traffic for three days in 2007 were fueled by online anonymity and a phenomenon known as contagion, according to a report by three academics. The paper, titled "Storming the Servers: A Social Psychological Analysis of the First Internet War," is among the first to study the social and psychological forces that contributed to the massive DDoS, or distributed denial of service, attacks on Estonia. They are likely to play out in future online conflicts, the authors warn. Chief among the contributors was the anonymity of online interactions, which the authors said created a disregard for established social mores. "Participants in the attacks both transmitted instructions on how to participate and took part in the DDoS attacks themselves from the privacy of their offices, internet cafes, and homes," the paper explains. ...

Founding Fathers' Quote of the Day

"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks."

Thereafter -- according to their playbook -- once they have you addicted to the new entitlement, they can then beat Republicans over the head every election year with their pious claims that anyone who opposes their plot to increase handouts from the program wants to toss seniors, the sick, and the poor out into the snow. March Report Podcast

News and Opinion Presented by Robert Jay March

    21:39. Recorded
    Monday, January 11, 2010
    TOPICS DISCUSSED:

    Glenn Beck:
    The Verdict Is In

On the January 4, 2010 edition of Glenn Beck's Radio Program, Beck mocked the so-called "birthers": those of us who believe, and have submitted extensive evidence to prove, that Barack Obama is not legally qualified to serve as President of The United States, per Article II Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution: "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President." March discusses Beck's remarks, why he made them, and what Beck's afraid of. During his last podcast, Robert Jay March asked, "Is Glenn Beck a Hero or a Coward?" The verdict is now in.

Britt Hume's Remarks on Tiger Woods and Buddhism.

On the January 3, 2010 edition of Fox News Sunday, Hume said this: "the extent to which [Tiger] can recover seems to me depends on his faith. He's said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith." Robert Jay March, a practicing Buddhist for 38 years, and a devout Catholic before that, corrects Hume's misunderstanding of the Buddhist faith, explaining how that "kind of forgiveness and redemption" is implicit in the Buddhism, and the personal tragedy in Hume's life that account for his statement.

Gov. Charlie Crist's announcement Thursday that he'll bolt the Republican Party and run for the U.S. Senate as an independent would have been an unimaginable proposition just a few months ago. After all, Crist was considered a 2008 GOP vice presidential candidate and a potential rising star. Jeffrey M. Jones -- Gallup Poll

More than three-quarters of Americans have heard about the state of Arizona's new immigration law, and of these, 51% say they favor it and 39% oppose it. These results are based on a new Gallup poll conducted April 27-28, in the days after Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's signing the bill into law. The law makes it a state crime for illegal immigrants to be in the country, and allows Arizona law enforcement officials to detain those suspected of being in the country illegally unless they can prove otherwise. ...

YEST Texas Legislators Plan Bills Similar To Arizona Immigration Law

    Anna M. Tinsley -- Star-Telegram

A state lawmaker wants to make sure that any candidate on the presidential ticket from now on can show proof they were born in the United States -- or not be allowed on the Texas ballot. State Rep. Leo Berman this week said he's planning to file several immigration-related bills once Texas lawmakers get back to work in January, including one that requires presidential and vice presidential candidates to prove their citizenship to the Texas secretary of state before their names are added to the ballot. This is similar to one provision in the immigration law recently approved in Arizona. "We'll do it," said Berman, R-Tyler, and a former Arlington mayor pro tem. "We'll do it from now on. If he can't prove citizenship ... he won't have a place on the Texas ballot." ...

    Ginger Rough -- Arizona Republic

Signing the nation's toughest immigration legislation into law has thrust Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer into the national spotlight, and recent polls suggest the move has given her job-performance ratings a boost. But her support of Senate Bill 1070 is unlikely to carry her gubernatorial campaign through the summer and into the fall, analysts say. Officials in the Obama administration are urging the extraordinary step of suing Arizona over its new immigration law, and the Justice Department is considering such an action to block the legislation from taking effect, government officials said Wednesday. A referendum drive and a lawsuit have emerged as potential road blocks to Arizona's tough new law on illegal immigration that has thrust the state into the national spotlight. The legal action set to be filed Thursday in federal court is aimed a preventing enforcement of the controversial measure, while the ballot question could put it on hold until 2012. A draft of the proposed lawsuit shows the National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders will seek an injunction preventing authorities from enforcing the law. The group argues federal law pre-empts state regulation of national borders, and that Arizona's law violates due-process rights by allowing suspected illegal immigrants to be detained before they're convicted. ...

YEST Why Arizona Drew A Line

Kris W. Kobach -- law professor, University of Missouri at Kansas City in the New York Times

The Arizona law hardly creates a police state. It takes a measured, reasonable step to give Arizona police officers another tool when they come into contact with illegal aliens during their normal law enforcement duties. And it's very necessary: Arizona is the ground zero of illegal immigration. Phoenix is the hub of human smuggling and the kidnapping capital of America, with more than 240 incidents reported in 2008. It's no surprise that Arizona's police associations favored the bill, along with 70 percent of Arizonans. ...

    Should Obama Step Down?

Since the first report of Barack Hussein Obama's doubtful heritage surfaced, those citizens brave enough to swim upstream have been ridiculed, defamed, derided and denounced, and not just by uberliberals such as those infesting the halls of MSNBC, but by members of their own political demographic. It seems that, just like every other aspect of our constitution they find inconvenient, those who are comfortable with the status quo are quite happy to ignore this one as well. Well, the law of our land is not intended to ensure you comfort, nor is it intended to allow you to set aside those clauses you find inconvenient. Posing as an impostor president and commander in chief you have stripped civilian command and control over the military establishment." He continued, "I accuse you and your military-political criminal assistants of TREASON. I name you and your military criminal associates as traitors. An Inconvenient Lie

James Lovelock, Who Developed The Gaia Theory, Says "Democracy Must Be Put On Hold" To Prevent Climate Change

    Leo Hickman -- Guardian (UK)

Humans are too stupid to prevent climate change from radically impacting on our lives over the coming decades. This is the stark conclusion of James Lovelock, the globally respected environmental thinker and independent scientist who developed the Gaia theory. "I don't think we're yet evolved to the point where we're clever enough to handle a complex a situation as climate change," said Lovelock in his first in-depth interview since the theft of the UEA emails last November. "The inertia of humans is so huge that you can't really do anything meaningful." One of the main obstructions to meaningful action is "modern democracy", he added. "Even the best democracies agree that when a major war approaches, democracy must be put on hold for the time being. I have a feeling that climate change may be an issue as severe as a war. It may be necessary to put democracy on hold for a while." ...

Global-Warming Alarmism Dying A Slow Death

Alex Newman -- New American Magazine

The rapid loss of public credibility over all the errors has also accompanied numerous calls by prominent voices for official inquiries and even criminal investigations. Several universities involved have already launched reviews. And even previous IPCC chief Professor Robert Watson, for example, is calling for a probe to investigate "warming bias" by the UN panel. "The mistakes all appear to have gone in the direction of making it seem like climate change is more serious by overstating the impact. That is worrying," he told the U.K. Times Online. "The IPCC needs to look at this trend in the errors and ask why it happened." The UN will indeed launch an "independent" inquiry, but critics generally expect a coverup. U.S. Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.) went further, proposing criminal investigations to determine if alarmists violated any laws. A Senate report produced for Inhofe's Environment and Public Works Committee concluded that, among other problems, "scientists involved in the CRU controversy violated fundamental ethical principles governing taxpayer-funded research and, in some cases, may have violated federal laws." Similarly, British authorities were investigating possible criminal activity by Climategate scientists who refused to provide documents and data under lawful Freedom of Information requests. The scientists may reportedly escape prosecution under the FOI law because of a six-month statute of limitations. ...

The Subtle Racism of the Left.

    by Robert Jay March

Yesterday, a MarchReport.com reader from Lyndhurst, New Jersey sent me a copy of a letter from an Emergency Room Doctor that someone had found on the internet and passed along to him. I thought it was well worth reading, and wrote back, asking for the original source of the letter, so that MarchReport.com could link to it. As it turns out, he did not know the source, and, my curiosity piqued, that sent me on a Google-quest to find it. The original posting is six months old, and MarchReport.com being a current news site, I normally would not have linked to it now; however, Google being Google, the search returned 20,300 results [with the usual Google-caveat on the last page (p. 76): "In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 757 already displayed."]

As I began to read through the resulting links, it became apparent that this could be used as an object lesson for those who have been on the receiving-end of abuse from those who think that anyone to the right of Chairman Mao or Ernesto "Che" Guevara must be a racist, must live in fear of "the other," and must be re-educated, ideally with a blunt instrument.

The article was posted on Snopes, a project of The Annenberg Public Policy Center, the very bastion of re-education and guardian of the public's zeitgeist.

The post was entitled "Why Pay for the Care of the Careless?" and consisted of a Letter to the Editor of the Gannett-owned Jackson, Mississippi Clarion Ledger, written by Starner Jones, M.D., and published in the August 23, 2009 issue. It reads as follows:

    "Dear Sirs:
"During my last night's shift in the E.R., I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B tune for a ringtone. Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status: Medicaid. She smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and, somehow, still has money to buy beer.

"And our Congress expects me to pay for this woman's health care? Our nation's health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. It is a crisis of culture -- a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. A culture that thinks "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me." Life is really not that hard. Most of us reap what we sow.

    "Don't you agree?"

The good doctor's simple statement of his philosophy, published in a small paper with a daily circulation of only 70,000 (MarchReport.com's Daily Alert Newsletter has a circulation of nearly quadruple that) despite having won a Pulitzer in 1983, would have been forgotten in a day or two and had the ignominious fate of most such Letters to the Editor dropped on them (the bird-cage prize) were it not for the ever-vigilant eyes of Those Who Must Be Obeyed: The Looney Left (apologies to John Mortimer, QC and his creation, Horace Rumpole).

In the September 6, 2009 issue of the Clarion Ledger, one Jennifer Sigrest of the aptly-named Clinton, Mississippi wrote a response to Dr. Jones' letter, wherein she said, "This kind of personal attack is nothing new with the hateful rhetoric of late. But it's a real slippery slope when one questions whether another human merits support for health care because of appearances and choices. There are a lot of folks in this state who make less-than-perfect choices about finances and health. We are the poorest, fattest state, after all." (Read her entire letter at Snopes, and you'll understand why I feel Clinton is aptly-named.)

O.K., fine: she disagrees with Dr. Jones' simple philosophy, and felt strongly enough to write a rebuttal. MarchReport.com agrees with the good doctor and disagrees with her, but freedom of speech, as guaranteed by the First Amendment, is an absolute guarantee: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." It is that very guarantee that, apparently, sent the left lunging for their Absolut.

Vitals.com is a web-site that posts reviews of Doctors. They describe themselves as "Your source for comprehensive medical information on 720,000 doctors nationwide." Have a look at their review page of Dr. Jones. The reviews of him as a Doctor are very positive. A week ago, a "critique" was posted about him (not about his skills as a physician; it's about his Letter to the Editor) by a "reviewer" who signed himself as William Utter. We reproduce it here, misspellings, bad grammar, and all: "YOUR WRONG. It's ppl like you are the reasion we don't have health for everyone in this country. If ppl like you would stop having babies this country would be better off!"

Another "reviewer" who signed his post with the nom-de-plume "health care for all" and entitled his post "Sad Selfish Bigot" said this: "All this doctor can see is the color of his patient and the amount of reimbursement he is going to receive. Would he be as troubled by the gold tooth and tattoo if they were on an 80 year old white patient? I think not."

These, on a site for medical reviews: it is not a place for political discussions -- for any "reasion."

Wading more deeply into my Google-results, I found this on, of all places, a Real Estate Blog called ActiveRain: it's a post entitled "Dr. Starner Jones, MD -- Racist of the Week." The author of the post starts by saying, "Now some of you will immediately see that this guy has a real hatred for black people and get angry. Others -- and I can almost predict who the "others" will be -- will think this doctor really has it going on. A real genius."

Say what? Exactly where in Dr. Jones letter is it stated, or even implied, that the patient was Black? NO WHERE! I remember a book store cashier who fit the description of Dr. Jones' patient to a "Tee," and he was White. When I lived in New York City, prior to my disability, I saw people that fit this description on the subway every day -- of all races.

Lefty (who signed her post "The Arizona Home Loan Lady," but that's a bit of a mouthful) continued: "He makes it very clear that he is talking about a black person in the first paragraph. And just to make sure we get the point, he even throws in "R&B" music, just to hammer it home. He could have left out the gold tooth thing. But he paints us a real nice picture, doesn't he? I'm sure all of his black patients are like this. Every single one of them has gold teeth and an R&B ringtone...I'm sure." She goes on to say, "And he is sarcastic about doing his job for a black person, when he writes "I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a gold tooth ..."

My father had two gold teeth, and he was a mix of Polish, Ukranian, and Mongolian -- and had curly blond hair to boot. "R&B music"? One of my favorite tunes is "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted," which was recorded by Jimmy Ruffin when The Spinners passed on it. I have it on vinyl, cd, and as an mp3 downloaded from Amazon.com. It's a Soul-music classic, and I rarely go through a week without listening to it, and I, too, am the aforementioned mix of Polish, Ukranian, and Mongolian. My mother was descended from Polish royalty, and my father from peasantry; in fact, going back many, many generations, my ancestors on my father's side were the gamekeepers to my ancestors on my mother's side. I must take after my father's side of the family, because here I am cleaning up another creature's poop again.

Who are the real racists here? The white Medical Doctor who made a simple comment about the apparent misuse of the funds exhibited by his patient, or the overcompensating leftists, who see racism where there is none, and try to force the rest of us (not them -- never them) to bend over backwards to remedy it; the leftists who want to ban Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn because those books, which accurately reflected their times, and were written by Mark Twain to show just how truly revolting was the bigotry of his time, were supposedly Inappropriate, Unacceptable, and Racist? The 12-year-old called racist for wearing Palin t-shirt, or those who made the accusation?

Just as I had finished writing the previous paragraph, and was about to start looking for an old Readers Digest article from the 1930s, wherein I remember the author, a classic liberal if his day, was writing on what was then called "home relief," who was interrupted by a black (no ... he said "colored," if I recall correctly) janitor, who had come in to clean his office. I was looking for it because I recalled recoiling at the remark he made in the article about those who were and were not fit for certain jobs, made the classic 1930s-liberal quip that "it was good they found some kind of work for him." Today, he'd be drawn-and-quartered in the court of public opinion for that remark, but back then, it was what passed for enlightened, progressive liberalism. The liberals of the day enthusiastically advocated eugenics; in fact, the September 10, 1932 issue of Literary Digest ran an article entitled "Eugenics as the Cure for All the Race's Ills."

Anyway, retracing my steps from that pre-Yahoo! Maps detour down a side road: literally, actually just as -- an e-mail arrived from a business associate of mine (a liberal, doncha know), that contained an article with the perfect example of the racism of the left: Colorado School District Pays Six Figures To Professional Race Hustler To Tell Kids How Racist They Are." It describes what the author of the post characterizes as "professional race-hustler and certified loonbag Glenn E. Singleton" and his book Courageous Conversations About Race: A Field Guide for Achieving Equity in Schools, wherein Singleton claims that "White teachers, and minority teachers who have been 'co-opted into the white power structure' are racist by virtue of not understanding the 'special ways that blacks and Hispanics communicate.'"

That statement sounds pretty racist to me and, being that Singleton is white, he should be made to listen to a books-on-tape version of his book over and over again until he learns what he is teaching! Made ... MADE, I say! Then, he should be forced to pay reparations ... to the rest of us, and whatever sap put out a books-on-tape version of that waste of wood pulp and mylar.

As I see it, human beings are all one color: varying shades of brown, from extreme pastel to very dark. Any other distinctions are nonsense. The sooner people from all points on the political divide see it that way, the sooner we can toss "Political Correctness," that modern-day resurrection of George Orwell's "Newspeak," from "1984" on the dung-heap of history, where it has belonged all along.

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

    Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

    Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

    Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
