At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks

Dave Rosenthal -- Baltimore Sun

Among the promising books out this month is The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks, which examines the extraordinary -- and controversial -- scientific contribution made by a young black woman from Baltimore County's Turners Station community more than a half-century ago. While Lacks was being treated for cancer at Johns Hopkins, a researcher was able to keep some of her cells alive outside her body -- a remarkable breakthrough for medical research. Author Rebecca Skloot notes in this excerpt that the "HeLa cells," spread around the world, helped to develop the polio vaccine and forge advances in such areas as chemotherapy, cloning, gene mapping and in vitro fertilization.

John Edwards Tell-All Book Details Leak: 'Fat Rednecks' And A Sex Tape

Keith Staskiewicz -- Entertainment Weekly

Only weeks after the bestselling campaign book Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime laid out for all to see the indiscretions and subsequent political implosion of John Edwards, the former aide/human shield who originally claimed paternity for Edwards' illegitimate child has announced his own tell-all account of the affair, The Politician: An Insider's Account of John Edwards's Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down. The book deals with Young's facilitation of the liaison as well as his role in its aftermath and the ensuing cover-up, which Young contends was orchestrated by Edwards himself. ...

Washington Is In A Frenzy Over 'Game Change'

Greg Milam -- Sky News (UK)

Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime, for example, revealed the racially insensitive comments of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about then-candidate Barack Obama. Obama accepted Reid's apology at the weekend but the calls for the veteran Nevada Senator to resign continue to grow as the partisan squabbling reaches a new peak. But it is the 'revelations' about the likes of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, John McCain and Sarah Palin that are, in political circles at least, the stuff of fevered talk. Like the reported fact that Mrs Palin wanted to call Mr Biden 'Joe' during televised debates because she couldn't stop saying 'O'Biden' in rehearsals. And some of the private details about personal relationships that, frankly, we could all live without knowing.

British Writer Gets Sales Boost From Tiger Woods Crash

Agence France-Presse (FR)

Sales of a little-known British scientist's book have soared after it was pictured in Tiger Woods' crashed car, he said Thursday. "Get a Grip on Physics" by Doctor John Gribbin was photographed in a footwell of the car after the US golf superstar smashed it into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his Florida home last month. Within days of the pictures going round the world, the book's best-seller ranking on Internet retailer Amazon.com shot up from 396,224th position to 2,268th.

China Closes Hacker Training Site, Arrests Three Members

Owen Fletcher -- IDG News Service

Police in the central province of Hubei began probing Black Hawk Safety Net after finding some of its members used malicious programs provided by the site to commit cybercrimes, according to newspapers including the People's Daily, the official paper of the Communist Party. The three arrests are the first made under revisions to China's criminal law last year that banned the design and distribution of hacking tools, the reports said. Those revisions, which marked China's first law protecting the public from cyber data theft, were one of several measures China unveiled against cybercrime in the last year, a time when reports of arrests for crimes like malware attacks have also become more common in the country. ...

Obama's Deception: Health Care, C-SPAN, And Other Broken Promises

Dr. Paul Murdock -- Canada Free Press (CA)

How many of you would let your children, business partners, employees, or friends be consistently dishonest? Would you pay for a product that you had not seen or researched? Would you purchase a product if you knew the company was incompetent and could not deliver quality? I think not. Yet here in America we do exactly that. Obama has no intention of keeping his moderate election promises. He may provide excuses, but he still would be deceiving you. ...

Obama's Weak Response To Airliner Attack Increases Threat To U.S.

Jim Meyers -- NewsMax

Influential journalist Arnaud de Borchgrave says that the Obama administration is "trying to make the best of a very bad situation" by downplaying the security lapses that led to a Nigerian sneaking an explosive device aboard a plane. De Borchgrave also warned about the threat posed by Pakistanis who are British citizens and can enter the U.S. without a visa; and he pointed to a "growing convergence" between the ambitions of Iran and al-Qaida in the Middle East. Asked about the Obama administration's response to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian Muslim who spent time in Yemen and allegedly attempted to detonate an explosive device aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day, de Borchgrave said, "I think it's been very weak." ...

News and Opinion Presented by Robert Jay March

21:39. Recorded
Monday, January 11, 2010
TOPICS DISCUSSED:

Glenn Beck:
The Verdict Is In

On the January 4, 2010 edition of Glenn Beck's Radio Program, Beck mocked the so-called "birthers": those of us who believe, and have submitted extensive evidence to prove, that Barack Obama is not legally qualified to serve as President of The United States, per Article II Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution: "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President." March discusses Beck's remarks, why he made them, and what Beck's afraid of. During his last podcast, Robert Jay March asked, "Is Glenn Beck a Hero or a Coward?" The verdict is now in.

Britt Hume's Remarks on Tiger Woods and Buddhism.

On the January 3, 2010 edition of Fox News Sunday, Hume said this: "the extent to which [Tiger] can recover seems to me depends on his faith. He's said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith." Robert Jay March, a practicing Buddhist for 38 years, and a devout Catholic before that, corrects Hume's misunderstanding of the Buddhist faith, explaining how that "kind of forgiveness and redemption" is implicit in the Buddhism, and the personal tragedy in Hume's life that account for his statement.

 D.C., Area Governments Halt Snow Removal;
Too Dangerous To Plow

FOXNews

The National Weather Service on Wednesday used the phrases "extremely dangerous" and "life-threatening blizzard" to describe conditions in Baltimore and Washington, which have both set records this week for the snowiest seasons ever. Wind gusts have reached as high as 60 miles per hour as the blizzard passed through the region. According to NOAA, before now, the snowiest month on record for Washington, D.C., was 35.2 inches, set in February 1899. By the end of the snowfall Wednesday, areas of Washington will have seen as much as 52 inches in February 2010. At the same time, the city is dealing with as much as 25 percent of its plows being out of commission at any one time. DDOT spokeswoman Karyn LeBlanc said that the city started with 204 plows, as well as additional contracted plows, Bobcats and front loaders but is facing a variety of repair issues, such as broken fan belts or salt spreaders.

YEST New Jersey Leaders Pressing For Bayonne Bridge Solution To Protect Jobs

Charles Hack -- Jersey Journal

With the Bayonne Bridge too low to allow new super-sized cargo ships to reach Port Newark and Port Elizabeth, time is running out before the regional economy starts to suffer from lost shipping trade, U.S. Rep. Albio Sires said yesterday. And with a project to widen the Panama Canal to accommodate the new larger cargo ships on track for completion in 2014, New Jersey ports could start losing business as ships heading to and from the Pacific Ocean begin using East Coast ports that do not have the same height restriction. "We are trying to expedite things because the Panama Canal is moving faster," Sires said. "I am going to get money from under a rock if necessary."

Bill Gertz -- Washington Times

China's military stepped up pressure on the United States on Monday by calling for a government sell-off of U.S. debt securities in retaliation for recent arms sales to Taiwan.  Gentle Diplomacy With Iran Will Not Work

Jeff Jacoby -- Boston Globe

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, declared that Tehran was going to "punch'' Western nations "in a way that will leave them stunned.'' Welcome to Year Two of Barack Obama's "engagement'' with Iran. The closer Iran's regime gets to acquiring nuclear weapons, the more critical it becomes to ostracize and change that regime. It isn't only hawkish right-wingers who think so. In a recent New York Times essay, Alan J. Kuperman, director of Nuclear Proliferation Prevention Program at the University of Texas - as well as a former aide to such congressional liberals as Charles Schumer and Thomas Foley - called for American air strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities. The Middle East Forum's Daniel Pipes, urging Obama to order such strikes before it is too late, notes that a majority of Americans, as measured in recent polls, favors using force to keep Iran from going nuclear. ...

Iran Arrests Activists Before Expected Protests

Ali Akbar Dareini -- Associated Press

The reported raids are part of a broad offensive by Iran's leadership to intimidate anti-government demonstrators from trying to disrupt state-backed celebrations Thursday of the 1979 overthrow of the pro-Western monarchy. Iranian authorities are desperate to show the upper hand on the most important day of the nation's political calendar. But the high-profile events, including a huge gathering in Tehran's Azadi Square and other places across Iran, offers a chance for opposition groups to make another powerful statement of their resolve. Anti-government Web sites and blogs have called for a major turnout and urged marches to display green emblems or clothes: the color adopted by the anti-government movement since June's disputed presidential election. ...

Barack Obama said Tuesday that he's "bent over backwards" to engage Iran in "constructive" dialogue and the U.S. will push in the United Nations to sanction the country, which has begun enriching uranium to levels capable of making an atomic bomb. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Tehran is violating a Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and is refusing to sign off on an IAEA-brokered deal that would allow Tehran to be supplied with nuclear fuel for its medical reactor in exchange for its low-enriched uranium (LEU). ...

YEST Iran Enriching Uranium To 20 Per Cent Purity

Agence France-Presse (FR)

Iran has begun enriching uranium to 20 per cent purity at its Natanz plant in defiance of world powers but under the supervision of inspectors from the UN nuclear watchdog. Calling Iran's move provocative, a senior US official said the decision to enrich to 20 per cent, if carried out, would suggest that Iran's "intentions are not as they stated." As Western powers apply more pressure over Iran's nuclear ambitions, the Supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said Iran was set to deliver a "punch" that would stun world powers during the 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution this week. "The Iranian nation, with its unity and God's grace, will punch the arrogance [of Western powers] on the 22nd of Bahman [February 11] in a way that will leave them stunned," Iran's commander-in-chief told a gathering of air force personnel on Monday. ...

YEST Endgame For Ahmadinejad?

Con Coughlin -- Telegraph (UK)

Before Western governments become too alarmed by Tehran's provocative stance, the regime's recent announcements need to be examined within the context of the country's deepening political turmoil, which many of Mr Ahmadinejad's political opponents confidently predict will surface again during Thursday's climax to this year's anniversary celebrations. Ever since Mr Ahmadinejad was proclaimed the victor in last summer's hotly disputed presidential election contest, his regime has been besieged by angry protesters who claim his victory was rigged, and that his hardline conservative supporters are denying the Iranian people their proper democratic rights. Today's opposition movement has a far broader base than its predecessors. Previous anti-government protests drew heavily on student campuses for their support, whereas today's Green movement has the backing of Iran's prosperous middle classes (the bazaaris) who are as much outraged by Mr Ahmadinejad's woeful mismanagement of the Iranian economy as they are critical of his uncompromising political agenda. As a consequence, it is no understatement to say that Iran is currently experiencing its most turbulent spell of political instability since Khomeini's triumphant return from exile in Paris. ...

YEST Inside Toyota's Epic Breakdown

Nathan Layne, Taiga Uranaka and Kevin Krolicki -- Reuters

In the middle of December, on a cloudy day in the middle of the Japanese archipelago's main island, Ron Medford, the acting head of the U.S. agency that regulates auto safety, was reading Toyota executives the riot act. Medford had been quietly dispatched by the Obama administration to deliver a firm message: Toyota, he told them, had better get its act together, according to U.S. regulators. By the time Medford arrived in Japan, Toyota was working through a recall that would involve over 5 million vehicles in the United States. The problem was mundane but potentially lethal ...

 Levi Johnston's Getting 'Desperate'

Bill Zwecker -- Chicago Sun-Times

Following up on his posing for Playgirl, Levi Johnston reportedly is expanding his "acting" horizons. Word has it, Sarah Palin's daughter's baby daddy will have a three-episode arc on "Desperate Housewives." No word on a plot line, but Johnston supposedly will be a boy toy for one of the long-running series' main characters. According to Hollywood gossip pro Janet Charlton, it all was the brainstorm of show creator Marc Cherry, a member of the Log Cabin Republicans, the gay GOP group. Cherry apparently first met Johnston -- along with the rest of the Palin clan -- at the 2008 Republican National Convention. When asked about the possible "Housewives" gig, a close associate of the former Alaska governor quipped, "Well, maybe now he'll be able to get caught up with his child support payments." ...

Free Britney -- Hollywood Gossip

If you've seen any Michael Jackson pictures from, say, the last 20 years, you knew there was weird stuff going on there. So weird we don't even have to elaborate. The pop icon's death last June not only ignited waves of new and rekindled interest in his musical legacy, but posed dozens of questions about his bizarre lifestyle. This article highlights some notable items gleaned from the 51-page coroner's report, which was released Monday and is based on both MJ's autopsy and a postmortem home search. ...

Global Warming Science Implodes; American Media Silent

Rick Moran -- American Thinker

The revelations have been nothing short of jaw dropping. Dozens - yes dozens - of claims made in the IPCC 2007 report on climate change that was supposed to represent the "consensus" of 2500 of the world's climate scientists have been shown to be bogus, or faulty, or not properly vetted, or simply pulled out of thin air. We know this because newspapers in Great Britain are doing their job. Perhaps its time to ask why this story being revealed overseas with new revelations almost daily can't get any traction here. Blogs are keeping us informed of the latest from England but we hear crickets chirping when it comes to stories from major newspapers and (outside of Fox News) the cable nets. ...

U.N. Climate Change Panel Based Claims On Student Dissertation And Magazine Article

Richard Gray and Rebecca Lefort -- Telegraph (UK)

The revelation will cause fresh embarrassment for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), which had to issue a humiliating apology earlier this month over inaccurate statements about global warming. In its most recent report, it stated that observed reductions in mountain ice in the Andes, Alps and Africa was being caused by global warming, citing two papers as the source of the information. However, it can be revealed that one of the sources quoted was a feature article published in a popular magazine for climbers which was based on anecdotal evidence from mountaineers about the changes they were witnessing on the mountainsides around them. The other was a dissertation written by a geography student, studying for the equivalent of a master's degree, at the University of Berne in Switzerland that quoted interviews with mountain guides in the Alps. ...

Calls For Rajendra Pachauri To Resign As Chairman Of The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change -- By Environmentalists

Geoffrey Lean -- Telegraph (UK)

He is steadfastly refusing to go, but his position is becoming more and more untenable by the day, and the official climate science body will continue to leach credibility while he remains in charge. Four more have now been reported from the part of the latest IPCC report on Himalayan glaciers that contained the notorious -- and now withdrawn -- claim that they would disappear by 2035. And there are now reports that it erred in relying on an unpublished report in linking natural disasters like flood and hurricanes to global warming. All appear much less serious than the original Himalayan howler, but they add to the impression of sloppiness at the IPCC. ...

World Misled Over Himalayan Glacier "Meltdown"

Jonathan Leake and Chris Hastings -- London Times (UK)

Two years ago the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a benchmark report that was claimed to incorporate the latest and most detailed research into the impact of global warming. A central claim was the world's glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035. In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCC's 2007 report. It has also emerged that the New Scientist report was itself based on a short telephone interview with Syed Hasnain, a little-known Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was "speculation" and was not supported by any formal research. ...

Americans Turn Right On Reds

by Robert Jay March

After months of demeaning comments about the Tea Party movement, the so-called "Democratic" Party, which is anything but democratic, is now quaking in it's Manolo Blahnik boots. Having tried to force-feed the takeover of the American Health Care system to the American public over it's vociferous objections, saying "Let's win it for Teddy," it is ironic that their wake-up call came in the form of the loss of the late Senator Kennedy's Senate seat to an opponent of that very bill. Obama's knee-jerk response, true to form, was to blame the loss on eight years of George W. Bush.

After a few days to reflect and allow the humiliation and repudiation to penetrate that thick noggin of his, Obama was interviewed by Dianne Sawyer, who asked him if one term was enough. The question was shocking enough in and of itself, in that it was only a year ago that Obama was proclaimed as our saviour, the demi-deity who would solve all problems (hosanna in the highest and praise be to Barry). Obama chuckled nervously, and replied "I'd rather be a really good one-term president than a mediocre two-term president."

Actually, he fails on all counts. One, he's not legally President, per Article II Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution. Two, in play-acting the role to the most receptive audience any politician has ever had, he's blown it so badly that, even in Germany, the press is saying "Bid fairwell to Obama." The scent of political "blood in the water" is so pungent that Democrats in droves are re-considering plans to run for office, and Republicans who had not planned to run are now gearing up to do so.

Those in the Tea Party movement who are celebrating the victory of Scott Brown have good reason the celebrate, but I urge them to keep it in perspective. Brown's victory was a repudiation of the Health Care Bill, not an embrace of limited government per se. Half of the people who voted for Brown believe government should do more to solve problems, which is inimical to the Tea Party philosophy.

Scott Brown is a "progressive" (read: "Big Government") Republican in the mode of John McCain. He is a friend of convenience, a temporary ally whom they will probably find themselves in opposition to down the road. While the enemy of my enemy may be my friend, I'd rather have a true friend at my side when going into battle.

Meanwhile, down at the Elephant Preserve, the elders of the Grand Old Party are scratching their heads, trying to figure out how to co-opt the Tea Party Movement and turn it into an appendage of the Republican Party. Remember how outraged the GOP was when Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty and Fred Thompson endorsed Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman in New York's 23rd District Congressional race? The party had picked yet another progressive, Dede Scozzafava, and all the party pros, such as Newt Gingrich, had endorsed her, feeling that party loyalty trumped principle. When it became apparent that Scozzafava has no chance of winning, she withdrew from the race -- and threw her support to the Democrat. So much for party loyalty.

Putting party over principle will leave us forever condemned to whip-sawing from left to right, as every urge to "throw the rascals out" leaves us with only the other set of rascals to vote for. Don't be a Democrat. Don't be a Republican. Don't align yourself with any political party. Be a LOCist.

What's a LOCist? Quoting from my Editorial of April 5, 2008 edition of MarchReport.com, brilliant as it was,

"It's a Party of one, of which I am Party Chairman. It is based on the 1960s theory of television programming put forth by CBS 'master scheduler' Mike Dann and Paul Klien of NBC, called the "LOP" or "Least Objectionable Program" theory. In those days, there were just the 3 major networks (or 2 plus ABC, if you're really honest) and programming was based on the concept of the Mass Audience. Nowadays, with network audiences down to about 50% from a high of 90%, the LOP theory no longer works.

"HOWEVER, when it comes to Politics, there are only 2 'channels': Democratic and Republican; all the other parties are the equivalent of local stations, some with and some without network affiliations. Each major party needs MASS NUMBERS, so they try to nominate the Candidate that is Least Objectionable to their base. That's why, in primary season, Democrats run to the Left and Republicans to the Right, but in the General Elections, both move towards the perceived center. Party loyalists always vote for their party's candidate; the rest of us vote for the Least Objectionable Candidate (LOC). The candidate perceived by most voters to be Least Objectionable wins. Yay! Tapioca pudding for everyone!"

Given that Government is a necessary evil (the operative word being evil), there will always be politicians. People who succeed in politics are people who lie well enough to get a plurality of voters to put them in office. While some may get into politics initially to serve the public, those who survive have that youthful zeal burned out of them. Much as a sword-maker pounds and heats his steel into submission, forming the blade he intended to form, so each party pounds their new blood into a pulp useful only for feeding the machine.

Until such time as our "tea" is steeped strongly enough that we can field candidates that stand on principle, rather than stand for party loyalty over integrity, we must vote for the Least Objectionable Candidate, regardless of what party they are affiliated with. Then, we must hold their feet to the fire, constantly reminding them of how they got elected in the first place, and how fleeting their jobs can be.

Hillary Clinton's Eligibility Challenged In Supreme Court

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

A brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court by Judicial Watch, which investigates and prosecutes government corruption, questions whether members of the "political branches of the government" can "evade the clear and precise language of a provision of the Constitution through the use of a legislative 'fix.'" The dispute is over former Sen. Hillary Clinton's eligibility to be secretary of state. The U.S. Constitution, Article I, section 6, clause 2, provides: "No senator or representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been [increased] during such time." The complaint challenges whether a resolution adopted by Congress as Clinton was preparing for the position that rolled back the compensation to the level of Jan. 1, 2007, could remove the obstacle to Clinton's appointment. ...

N.Y. Gov. Paterson's Aide Takes Times To Task

Brendan Scott And Fredric U. Dicker -- New York Post

Gov. Paterson's chief of staff fired off an angry letter to The New York Times yesterday, demanding the paper investigate itself for preparing a story that led to rumors that Paterson was guilty of some kind of personal misconduct. "Over the weekend, speculation about what your article might reveal reached a fever pitch, and stories emerged predicting that, because of the Times' story, the Governor would be forced to resign this week," Lawrence Schwartz wrote in his letter to Times public editor Clark Hoyt. "The imagined justifications for this predicted outcome ran the gamut of the most salacious and outrageous accusations uninformed speculation could produce." Schwartz wrote that Paterson personally phoned Carolyn Ryan, the Times' political editor, last week and asked her if the profile would contain anything that had been rumored, and was told that it didn't. But the editor, he said, "demurred on the issue of doing anything to stop [the rumors.]" ...

Tea Party Jab To Be Zapped From Captain America Comic, Writer Says

Joshua Rhett Miller -- FOXNews

A "tea bag" reference in a recent Captain America comic book that has angered the Tea Party movement will be removed by Marvel Comics in future editions, the story's writer said. In issue No. 602 of Captain America, "Two Americas, Part One," the title hero and The Falcon, a black superhero from New York City, stumble upon a protest rally in Boise, Idaho. They see scores of protesters carrying signs that say "Stop the Socialists!" and "Tea Bag The Libs Before They Tea Bag YOU!" Captain America says the protest appears to be an "anti-tax thing," and The Falcon jokes that he likely would not be welcomed into the crowd of "angry white folks." Ed Brubaker, who wrote the story, said he did not write the "Tea Bag The Libs Before They Tea Bag YOU!" sign shown in the edition, insisting that the words were added by someone in "lettering or production" just before being shipped to the printer. It will be changed in the trade paperback edition, he said. Herb London, president of the Hudson Institute, a think tank based in Washington, said the protest scene in the comic book is merely the latest attempt in a "systematic effort" to chastise the grassroots Tea Party movement. ...

Stephen Dinan -- Washington Times

The window has closed on the areas of bipartisan cooperation Obama laid out, with Republicans saying his budget puts some ideas out of play and Democrats taking others off the table. Republicans say Mr. Obama's list was already fairly short. They rejected out of hand his renewed push for health care and his call to curb a Supreme Court ruling on campaign finance, leaving drilling for oil and gas here at home, pushing nuclear power and enacting more free-trade agreements as the chief areas that drew applause from the GOP. But Democrats have balked at the trade agreements. And Republicans said the budget that the president proposed last week shows he isn't serious about energy because he zeroed out funding for the planned nuclear waste facility. They also said Mr. Obama's budget belies his support for drilling because it assumes less revenue from that. ...

Certifi-Gate! America In Captivity

Another Look At Obama's Origins

Jack Cashill -- American Thinker

The murky circumstances of Obama's birth invite attempts to make the known facts fit together. A cryptic poem by the 19-year old Obama called "Pop," relates an encounter between Obama and a man most reviewers presume to be Obama's maternal grandfather, Stanley Dunham. Dunham would have been in his early 60's at the time. The Obama of the poem is cynical, even a little bitter. He makes several allusions to the fact that he and the old man look and even smell alike, a fact that strikes Obama as more ironic than reassuring. Don Wilkie, a Michigan entrepreneur, says "I think the poem zeros in on that poignant moment when Obama was told that his grandfather was in reality his father." Wilkie concedes his theory is "off-the-wall," but he also offers photographic evidence to show that Obama much more closely resembles Dunham -- especially the telltale ears --than he does Barack Obama, Sr. ...

On a forum page at The Hill newspaper, one commenter wrote that the president has only himself to blame for the questions. "Personally I am no birther ... but I am curious as to why Obama continues to beat on this issue ... is it a political ploy by his handlers to continue to use this as a divisive issue? To try and embarrass a certain segment of the population? And if not, why doesn't he just provide the certificate and end all the speculation for the conspirators once and for all? Obama has certainly been a little less than forthcoming on his grades, his Harvard review publications and many other accomplishments" ...

Anti-Tea-Party Ads Tied To Obama Eligibility

Chelsea Schilling -- World Net Daily

Democrat operatives, using the same address for an attorney who represented the Democratic National Committee in an eligibility lawsuit against Barack Obama, have launched an ad campaign and website called TheTeaPartyIsOver.org to "prevent the tea party's dangerous ideas from gaining legislative traction." In the wake of Scott Brown's dramatic victory for the U.S. Senate seat in Massachusetts, the energized national tea-party movement is targeting lawmakers deemed unresponsive to Americans. The anti-tea party website comes as Illinois will have its first-in-the-nation primaries Tuesday. The American Public Policy Committee shares an identical suite address with the Alliance for North Carolina; the Patriot Majority; and Sandler, Reiff & Young PC - the law firm of Joseph Sandler, general counsel to the Democratic National Committee who filed a motion to dismiss Philip Berg's eligibility lawsuit against Obama and the DNC. Sandler is also former counsel to both MoveOn.org and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a Muslim group named an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest terrorist-finance case in U.S. history. ...

The 2010 Democratic 'Birther' Strategy

Zach Jones -- Australia.to

Notwithstanding the eligibility issue's complexity, when Obama's so-called 'birth certificate' appeared online, media supporters quickly realized it would likely appear farfetched to the casual reader that the document could mean anything other than absolute proof that Obama was born in Hawaii. As such, Obama's support in the media seized upon the possibility that they could easily ignore the actual parameters of the issue and shape the news to redefine the 'eligibility' issue to mean: if Obama has a Hawaiian Birth Certificate, of course he is a 'citizen', and of course, this equals Obama is eligible to be President. Voila, the media found their vehicle to infer that anyone questioning Obama's eligibility to serve as President of the United States was a complete and utter fool. Because, most people pay little attention to and/or fail to verify the details of news stories (most barely read past the headlines), the media has been able to pull off their slight of hand. And as the media is well aware, once people commit to a version of the facts they are reluctant to revisit an issue. Especially, given that many of the normal players (Hillary, Republicans, and the courts) for their own reasons have been reluctant to touch this story, it makes the casual observer's commitment to his or her position even stronger. Thus, the term 'birther' has become an effective tool for the media and politicians to use to ridicule their opponents. ...

D.C. Court Case Demands Obama Explain Eligibility

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

A prominent attorney who has shepherded a number of high-profile legal cases challenging Barack Obama'seligibility to be president has brought a "Quo Warranto" case to district court in Washington, D.C., alleging his allegiances have included Britain, Kenya and Indonesia. A Quo Warranto action essentially is a demand to know by what authority a public figure is acting. The case, brought by California attorney Orly Taitz on behalf of herself, was assigned to Chief Judge Royce Lamberth. John Eidsmoe, an expert on the U.S. Constitution now working with the Foundation on Moral Law, an organization founded by former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore, previously said the demand was a legitimate course of action. Eidsmoe said it's clear that Obama has something in the documentation of his history, including his birth certificate, college records and other documents that "he does not want the public to know." ...

Appeals Court Told Obama 'Security Risk'; Lacks 'Constitutional Authority'

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

Attorney Mario Apuzzo filed the action with the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in January 2009 on behalf of Kerchner, Lowell T. Patterson, Darrell James Lenormand and Donald H. Nelson Jr. Named as defendants were Barack Hussein Obama II, the U.S., Congress, the Senate, House of Representatives, former Vice President Dick Cheney and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The case alleges Congress failed to follow the Constitution, which "provides that Congress must fully qualify the candidate 'elected' by the Electoral College Electors." The appeal said, "Plaintiffs allege that Obama has not conclusively proven that he was born in Hawaii. They also allege that even if he was so born, he cannot be an Article II 'natural born citizen' because his father was a British subject/citizen when Obama was born and Obama himself was born a British subject/citizen, all of which makes him ineligible to be president and commander in chief of the military." ...

Proposed Arizona Law: Dump Presidential Candidates Who Can't Prove Citizenship From Ballot

Howard Fischer -- Capitol Media Services

Barack Obama wants to run for reelection he would need to produce proof of both his U.S. birth and citizenship to get on the ballot in Arizona, if one state lawmaker gets her way. Rep. Judy Burges, R-Skull Valley, is preparing a law to require anyone running for president or vice president to provide proof to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office that they are legally eligible to seek the office. The U.S. Constitution requires the president -- and, by extension, the vice president -- to be "a natural born citizen." Burges would require the Secretary of State to verify that status independently. "If it's not certifiable, then that person's name would not go on the ballot," she said. ...

Secret Service Agents Pay Visits To Those Who Question Obama's Eligibility

Drew Zahn -- World Net Daily

In blogs, interviews and e-mails, "birthers" around the country are reporting surveillance and visits from the U.S. Secret Service, whose agents have questioned - or, as some report, intimidated - them over their insistence that Barack Obama prove his constitutional eligibility to serve as president. Stephen Pidgeon, an attorney for Washington state plaintiffs challenging Obama's eligibility, grew suspicious in March when his wife and coworkers reported being shadowed by police and three, black SUVs. "We are definitely under surveillance and it's coordinated with Homeland Security," Pidgeon alleged. The author of this story contacted the Secret Service and spoke with the agent Laudenslager reports visited him in Pennsylvania, but the agent explained he was not permitted to comment. ...

Glenn Beck Dumps On "Birthers" Again

Drew Zahn -- World Net Daily

Yet again, Glenn Beck shows himself to be completely ignorant of the issue, while presuming to ridicule those who have taken the time to research it. The "certification of live birth" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same "short-form" document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii. The true "long-form" birth certificate, which includes information such as the name of the birth hospital and attending physician, is the only document that can prove Obama was born in Hawaii, but to date he has not permitted its release for public or press scrutiny. ...

 America's Two Unconstitutional Presidents

Dianna C. Cotter -- Family Security Matters

Students of history know that history repeats itself. Today we are reliving the past of 1880's. The similarities between the 21st President and the 44th are startling, and the ramifications are huge. Attorneys Leo Donofrio and Steve Pidgeon have been retained by a group of Chrysler dealers who lost their franchises in the Chrysler bankruptcy sale. Quo Warranto is one of 2 ways to remove a sitting President, and is being filed on behalf of the Auto Dealers who had their dealerships taken from them in the summer of 2009, and bankruptcy motion actions are being filed in the Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York. It is expected that as many as 50 to 100 Auto Dealers may join lead Plaintiff James Anderer in the suits. ...

Closed Chrysler Dealers To Challenge Obama's Eligibility

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

Two lawyers, Leo Donofrio and Stephen Pidgeon, have joined forces to assemble a case challenging in U.S. bankruptcy court the federal government's use of Troubled Asset Relief Program funds to bail out Chrysler and in doing so may have created a scenario that finally will bring to a head the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility to be president. Their new case questions the authority by which the federal government and administration officials intervened in the auto industry, specifically allocating some $8 billion-plus to Chrysler, which later was forgiven. The clients in the case are former Chrysler dealers who lost their businesses as part of the "restructuring" of the automobile company. They have been damaged with the loss of their businesses, and the case alleges the Obama administration, through its use of TARP money, influenced Chrysler's outcome. Along with a bankruptcy court challenge, a "quo warranto" case is being filed in Washington, D.C., demanding to know by what authority administration officials set up the financial arrangements with Chrysler and handed out taxpayer money. As part of the demand for information about the authority used, Donofrio confirmed, there will be questions about Obama's eligibility to be president. ...

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
