At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

Washington Is In A Frenzy Over 'Game Change'

Greg Milam -- Sky News (UK)

Game Change: Obama and the Clintons, McCain and Palin, and the Race of a Lifetime, for example, revealed the racially insensitive comments of Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid about then-candidate Barack Obama. Obama accepted Reid's apology at the weekend but the calls for the veteran Nevada Senator to resign continue to grow as the partisan squabbling reaches a new peak. But it is the 'revelations' about the likes of Bill and Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden, John McCain and Sarah Palin that are, in political circles at least, the stuff of fevered talk. Like the reported fact that Mrs Palin wanted to call Mr Biden 'Joe' during televised debates because she couldn't stop saying 'O'Biden' in rehearsals. And some of the private details about personal relationships that, frankly, we could all live without knowing.

British Writer Gets Sales Boost From Tiger Woods Crash

Agence France-Presse (FR)

Sales of a little-known British scientist's book have soared after it was pictured in Tiger Woods' crashed car, he said Thursday. "Get a Grip on Physics" by Doctor John Gribbin was photographed in a footwell of the car after the US golf superstar smashed it into a fire hydrant and a tree outside his Florida home last month. Within days of the pictures going round the world, the book's best-seller ranking on Internet retailer Amazon.com shot up from 396,224th position to 2,268th.

Canadian Press (CA)

The broadening recall now includes some batches of Tylenol caplets, geltabs, arthritis treatments, rapid release, and extended relief Tylenol, as well as Motrin IB, chewable extra strength Rolaids, Benadryl allergy tablets, and St. Joseph aspirin. Almost three weeks ago, the company's McNeil Consumer Healthcare Products broadened its recall to include Tylenol Arthritis Caplets. YEST Phoenix Craft Lifeless, Spirit Inches Free

United Press International

The Phoenix spacecraft seeking microbial life near the Martian North Pole shows no signs of life itself and may be frozen, the U.S. space agency said Thursday. Phoenix was not designed to survive the frigid Martian winter, but NASA and University of Arizona scientists said they hoped to re-establish contact if the lander can recharge its batteries during the Martian spring, which has begun. The scientists said they would try to make contact with Phoenix again next month and in March. ...

Science From The Haiti Earthquake

American Institute of Physics

As more aftershocks hit Haiti this morning after last week's earthquake, scientists have been trying to assess what further damage the country may suffer. David Kerridge, who is head of Earth hazards at the British Geological Survey (BGS), says that "with an earthquake of this size and the mountainous terrain there is a strong possibility of landslides which may have caused many causalities in more remote parts of the island. Due to disruptions in communications the full extent of the disaster might not be clear for a few days." ...

YEST China Condemns U.S. Call For Unrestricted Internet

BBC News (UK)

Video AND TEXT. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said the US should "respect the facts" and stop making "groundless accusations against China". "The US has criticised China's policies to administer the internet, and insinuated that China restricts internet freedom," he said in a statement posted on the foreign ministry website. "This runs contrary to the facts and is harmful to China-US relations." An article in the Communist Party's Global Times English language news website called Mrs Clinton's criticisms "information imperialism". ...

YEST Tablet Wars: Amazon Adds Apps To Kindle

Charlie Sorrel -- Wired

Amazon has announced that it will open up the Kindle e-reader to third party developers, allowing applications, or what Amazon calls "active content," to run on the device. What kind of apps could run in the low-fi Kindle? Well, you won't be getting Monkey Ball, but interactive books, travel guides with locations data, RSS readers and anything that brings text to the device would be a good candidate. This could even include magazine and newspaper subscriptions. The terms of the new Kindle Development Kit (KDK) specify a 70:30 split, with the large part going to the developer. ...

YEST Microsoft Issues Emergency "Google Attack" Patch

Reuters

The world's largest software company, which said hackers targeting Google and at least 20 other companies in China exploited a weakness in its browser, said its new patch was "critical" and people should apply it as soon as possible. Other hackers have begun to exploit the flaw, according to researchers with Symantec Corp, the world's biggest security software maker. Symantec has found viruses that take advantage of the weakness in Microsoft's browser on some 100 websites, security researcher John Harrison said on Thursday. ...

U.S. Analysis Of Google Attack Code Finds Chinese Fingerprints

Guardian (UK)

Joe Stewart, a researcher with Atlanta-based SecureWorks, analysed the code the Hydraq Trojan also known as Operation Aurora. On the company's blog, Stewart doesn't mince words about what he referred to as "espionage-by-malware" originating from China: "With the recently disclosed hacking incident inside Google and other major companies, much of the world has begun to wake up to what the infosec community has known for some time - there is a persistent campaign of "espionage-by-malware" emanating from the People's Republic of China (PRC). Corporate and state secrets both have been shanghaied over a period of five or more years, and the activity becomes bolder over time with little public acknowledgement or response from the U.S. government." ...

The Word Leaks Out In China

Peter Foster -- Telegraph (UK)

As the talks continue between the US and Chinese governments over Google's allegations of cyber attacks from China, there is still little hard information and therefore much empty frothing in the media the possible impacts of Google's ultimatum. Today's China Daily does, however, contain one interesting fact among all the speculation. Namely, that the numbers of Chinese internet users searching on Google has soared since the row broke a week ago. This is significant because it shows that the 'word' about Google, and therefore internet censorship, is getting out in China as a result of Google's stand. This will no doubt worry China's leadership. Part of the genius of the Great Firewall is that the vast majority of Chinese internet users don't know it is there, or at least rarely find themselves banging up against it. ...

Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie Split Up

James Desborough -- News Of The World (UK)

The world's most famous couple legally agreed how to divide their fortune and who gets custody of their six kids. The megastars have agreed to equally divide their vast fortune -- and to SHARE their six children. Legal papers secretly signed by the couple this month detail how all their homes and assets will be carved up. Preparations for a split began in early December when "Brangelina" visited a top Los Angeles divorce firm to begin thrashing out the deal. An announcement of their separation is expected to be made soon -- ending months of speculation that the five-year relationship is on the rocks. The divorce lawyer they consulted is based in Beverly Hills and has worked on a string of celeb divorces and splits. He is widely regarded as "the best in the business." ...

'Inglourious Basterds' Stars Silent On Brad Pitt's Whereabouts At SAG Awards

Hollie McKay -- FOX News

In the wake of reports that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have signed separation papers, it was no surprise that the actor was a no-show to the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Saturday evening despite the fact that he and his "Inglourious Basterds" co-stars took the trophy for "Best Ensemble Cast in a Feature Film." After happily chirping about the fact that director Quentin Tarantino was probably downstairs "getting drunk," how they watched Brad Pitt the night before in Clooney's Haiti Telethon and how much they all like each other, the cast suddenly fell silent when Pop Tarts asked why Mr. Pitt wasn't present at the special ceremony. ...

 Jolie And Pitt Deny

Rich Shapiro And Kate Nelson -- New York Daily News

A report that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are splitting is "totally false" several sources are saying, but Hollywood's glam power couple remained mum Sunday. "Everything is fine," one source said. Canadian journalist Ian Halperin reported Sunday that a close friend of Pitt's says the hunky actor has been preparing to bail from his five-year relationship with the pillow-lipped Jolie for at least six months. "Brad is miserable and wants a new start," said the friend, a Hollywood industry veteran. "He's looked miserable and exhausted the past couple of years because he can't handle Angie's explosive personality and self destructive ways. ...

Obama's Deception: Health Care, C-SPAN, And Other Broken Promises

Dr. Paul Murdock -- Canada Free Press (CA)

How many of you would let your children, business partners, employees, or friends be consistently dishonest? Would you pay for a product that you had not seen or researched? Would you purchase a product if you knew the company was incompetent and could not deliver quality? I think not. Yet here in America we do exactly that. Obama has no intention of keeping his moderate election promises. He may provide excuses, but he still would be deceiving you. ...

Obama's Weak Response To Airliner Attack Increases Threat To U.S.

Jim Meyers -- NewsMax

Influential journalist Arnaud de Borchgrave says that the Obama administration is "trying to make the best of a very bad situation" by downplaying the security lapses that led to a Nigerian sneaking an explosive device aboard a plane. De Borchgrave also warned about the threat posed by Pakistanis who are British citizens and can enter the U.S. without a visa; and he pointed to a "growing convergence" between the ambitions of Iran and al-Qaida in the Middle East. Asked about the Obama administration's response to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian Muslim who spent time in Yemen and allegedly attempted to detonate an explosive device aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to Detroit on Christmas Day, de Borchgrave said, "I think it's been very weak." ...

March Report Podcast

News and Opinion Presented by Robert Jay March

21:39. Recorded
Monday, January 11, 2010
TOPICS DISCUSSED:

Glenn Beck:
The Verdict Is In

On the January 4, 2010 edition of Glenn Beck's Radio Program, Beck mocked the so-called "birthers": those of us who believe, and have submitted extensive evidence to prove, that Barack Obama is not legally qualified to serve as President of The United States, per Article II Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution: "No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President." March discusses Beck's remarks, why he made them, and what Beck's afraid of. During his last podcast, Robert Jay March asked, "Is Glenn Beck a Hero or a Coward?" The verdict is now in.

Britt Hume's Remarks on Tiger Woods and Buddhism.

On the January 3, 2010 edition of Fox News Sunday, Hume said this: "the extent to which [Tiger] can recover seems to me depends on his faith. He's said to be a Buddhist. I don't think that faith offers the kind of forgiveness and redemption that is offered by the Christian faith." Robert Jay March, a practicing Buddhist for 38 years, and a devout Catholic before that, corrects Hume's misunderstanding of the Buddhist faith, explaining how that "kind of forgiveness and redemption" is implicit in the Buddhism, and the personal tragedy in Hume's life that account for his statement.

Art Trove Is Among Haiti's Losses

Pooja Bhatia -- Wall Street Journal

Georges Nader Sr. considers himself lucky: The two rooms of his vast home that survived this month's earthquake were those in which he and his wife were napping. What didn't survive were the 12,000 artworks in the rest of his 35-room mansion, believed to be the world's largest repository of Haitian art. Mr. Nader, 78 years old, began buying Haitian paintings in the late 1950s, sold works to jet-setters who made the Caribbean country a chic destination through the '60s and '70s and helped build an international market for island works. It took 30 seconds to wipe out his collection, which Mr. Nader's son, Georges Nader Jr., estimates was worth $30 million to $100 million. ...

Haitian Government Urges Homeless To Leave City For Countryside

Vivian Sequera and Mike Melia -- Associated Press

Crews filling Haiti's mass graves with bodies reported ever higher numbers over the weekend: More than 150,000 quake victims from the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince have been buried by the government, officials said. That doesn't count those still under the debris, carried off by relatives, or killed in the outlying quake zone. The Haitian government urged many of the estimated 600,000 homeless huddled in open areas of Port-au-Prince, a city of 2 million, to look for better shelter with relatives or others in the countryside. Some 200,000 were believed already to have done so, most taking advantage of free government transportation. Others formed a steady stream out of the city yesterday. ...

Batsheva Sobelman -- Los Angeles Times

Video AND TEXT. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas recently said Obama is "doing nothing for the Middle East peace process," and expressed hope the U.S. would lean on Israel to abide by international law so that the road map may be implemented. Amid the argument over who is to blame for the failure of the Middle East peace process and whether Obama is doing too much, as Danon charges, or too little, as Abbas contends, peace is ultimately up to the Israelis and Palestinians, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says. Andrew Clark, Jill Treanor, and Paul Owen -- Guardian (UK)

US officials will fly to London next week to discuss with ministers how sweeping changes to the banking system outlined by Barack Obama to fight Wall Street's excesses might be implemented in the City. Top Wall Street banks are to face tough limits on their size and will be ordered to dismantle lucrative chunks of their business after the US president responded to a series of political setbacks by turning his fire on a "binge of irresponsibility" by financiers. Just a day after his administration suffered a disastrous defeat in a key Senate byelection, Obama shocked the financial industry by announcing that he intended to prohibit some of banks' most lucrative, yet speculative, activities. ...

Steve Harvey -- Los Angeles Times

The talk-show tumult involving Jay Leno, Conan O'Brien and David Letterman wouldn't have fazed viewers half a century ago in Southern California. They were used to chaos and controversy on the local TV chat circuit during that free-wheeling era of live broadcasts. "She asked me to tell Jaycee and the kids she really misses them and loves them," said her new attorney, Stephen Tapson. "She would obviously love to see them. I'm assuming the forces of evil won't allow that to happen." Former U.S. Attorney McGregor Scott, who represents Dugard, declined to comment. Firm To Remove Bible Verses From Rifles

Todd Spangler -- Detroit Free Press

Trijicon Inc. announced the change in policy today after it was learned through media reports that the company has for decades placed Christian references on rifle sights used by the military. The company defended the practice in a statement Wednesday saying it included the biblical references as "part of our faith and our belief in service to our country." Today, however, after the Army and the Marine Corps said they would review the practice - which came as a surprise to both - the company opted to change its practice, it said, "in response to concerns raised by the Department of Defense." Trijicon said it would remove the references from future U.S. military products as well as those already manufactured but not yet shipped and would send 100 modification kits to forces in the field to remove the references already on optical sights in use. ...

An Inconvenient Lie

Calls For Rajendra Pachauri To Resign As Chairman Of The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change -- By Environmentalists

Geoffrey Lean -- Telegraph (UK)

He is steadfastly refusing to go, but his position is becoming more and more untenable by the day, and the official climate science body will continue to leach credibility while he remains in charge. Four more have now been reported from the part of the latest IPCC report on Himalayan glaciers that contained the notorious -- and now withdrawn -- claim that they would disappear by 2035. And there are now reports that it erred in relying on an unpublished report in linking natural disasters like flood and hurricanes to global warming. All appear much less serious than the original Himalayan howler, but they add to the impression of sloppiness at the IPCC. ...

World Misled Over Himalayan Glacier "Meltdown"

Jonathan Leake and Chris Hastings -- London Times (UK)

Two years ago the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a benchmark report that was claimed to incorporate the latest and most detailed research into the impact of global warming. A central claim was the world's glaciers were melting so fast that those in the Himalayas could vanish by 2035. In the past few days the scientists behind the warning have admitted that it was based on a news story in the New Scientist, a popular science journal, published eight years before the IPCC's 2007 report. It has also emerged that the New Scientist report was itself based on a short telephone interview with Syed Hasnain, a little-known Indian scientist then based at Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. Hasnain has since admitted that the claim was "speculation" and was not supported by any formal research. ...

Republicans and Democrats continued to spar over the message and effect of Republican Scott Brown's win last week in overwhelmingly Democratic Massachusetts. The loss has shaken Democrats, who fear voter anger in November over healthcare and the still-struggling economy. Brown promised to give Senate Republicans the one additional vote they needed to filibuster the Democrats' healthcare bill.  Obama Retools Presidency Amid Turmoil

Richard Cowan -- Reuters

This retooling, so early in his term, already has people saying the 44th U.S. president has taken a populist turn, or that he might have to out-Republican the Republicans by focusing the next three years of his four-year term on deficit reduction and business growth. But labels are not so important. What is important is that if he is to salvage his presidency, Obama must demonstrate that he is in charge, not the two top Democrats in Congress: liberal House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and embattled Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, according to analysts. In order to salvage his agenda, Ron Bonjean, who was an aide to former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, a Republican, said Obama must "allow Republican ideas into the mix and publicly allow it to happen," allowing Republicans to claim some credit for any legislative accomplishments. YEST Former Aide Rips John Edwards' Confession As 'Empty Words'

Lee Ferran, Brian Ross, Nadine Shubailat And Chris Francescani -- ABC News (US)

Andrew Young lashed out at the former presidential candidate in an exclusive interview with ABC News hours after Edwards released a statement admitting he was the father of mistress Rielle Hunter's nearly 2-year-old toddler. "I think those were words, empty words," Young told ABC News. "If that is what he wanted to say, he should have said it two years ago. And there has been plenty of time...Now I think it's just a PR campaign." Edwards' confession comes two weeks before a book by Young detailing his account of the Edwards sex scandal will be released. "The Politician: An Insider's Account of John Edwards's Pursuit of the Presidency and the Scandal That Brought Him Down" will hit store shelves Feb. 2. Here ...

YEST Edwards Wanted To "Get A Doctor To Fake The DNA Results"

Mike Baker -- Associated Press

The confession came ahead of the Feb. 2 release of a book by former Edwards aide Andrew Young that is expected to describe how Edwards worked to hide his paternity with Young's help. Shortly before the 2008 presidential primaries began, Young stepped forward to claim that he, not Edwards, was the child's father. But there were suspicions at the time that the fiercely loyal aide was taking the fall for his boss. Young said in an excerpt of an ABC interview released Thursday that Edwards asked him to arrange a fake paternity test. "Get a doctor to fake the DNA results," Young quoted the candidate as saying. "And he asked me ... to steal a diaper from the baby so he could secretly do a DNA test to find out if this (was) indeed his child." The scandal may not be over: Federal prosecutors in North Carolina are investigating Edwards' campaign finances, apparently with regard to Hunter, whose video production firm was paid at least $100,000 in 2006 alone. ...

YEST High Court Decision May Bring 'Cascade' Of Election Spending

Jonathan D. Salant and Lorraine Woellert -- Bloomberg News

Yesterday's 5-4 ruling reverses a century's worth of federal legislation and court decisions limiting the influence of corporate money in politics. Labor unions such as the Service Employees International Union, which supports legislation that would make it easier to organize workers, can also open their treasuries now. "The decision drastically alters the landscape for candidates and political parties," said Benjamin Ginsberg, a partner at Patton Boggs LLP in Washington and former counsel to President George W. Bush's 2000 and 2004 campaigns. "We can expect much more spending, a virtual cascade of spending, by outside groups." The Supreme Court, citing constitutional free-speech protections, ruled that companies and unions could spend their own money on elections, not just contributions from employees and members to political action committees. The court also invalidated restrictions on the timing and content of independent campaign advocacy efforts. "Free at last, free at last!" said Cleta Mitchell, a campaign lawyer at Foley & Lardner LLP in Washington who represents companies and trade groups before the Federal Election Commission. "Business has been gagged for decades." ...

YEST Alaskan Senator Seeks To Block EPA's Power To Regulate Greenhouse Gases

Suzanne Goldenberg -- Guardian (UK)

"We cannot turn a blind eye to the EPA's efforts to impose back-door climate regulations," Lisa Murkowski told the Senate in prepared remarks. Murkowski's motion of disapproval, though unlikely to become law, is widely seen as a barometer for the chances of getting a climate change bill through the Senate this year. In an ominous sign for supporters of a climate law, she had the support of three Democratic Senators, further underscoring the unease in Obama's own party in enacting legislation to tackle global warming. Murkowski was joined today by Mary Landrieu, a Democratic Senator from Louisiana who has repeatedly expressed concern for her state's oil refining business; Senator Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas; and Senator Ben Nelson of Nebraska. Murkowski also claimed support from governors of her home state of Alaska, Mississippi and West Virginia as well as business organisations. Jim Webb, a Democrat from Virginia, has also expressed support for Murkowski. ...

Republican Outlines Plan To Seek Gillibrand's Senate Seat

Nicholas Confessore -- New York Times

Fresh off the upset victory of Scott Brown, the Republican contender in the Senate race in Massachusetts, Bruce A. Blakeman, a Republican lawyer from New York City, arrived here on Wednesday to discuss his plans to run against Senator Kirsten E. Gillibrand, the Democratic incumbent, this fall. "You are angry? I will fight for you. You are worried? I will work to protect you. You are frustrated, and your voice will be heard," said Mr. Blakeman, who wore a pinstripe suit and bore a box of doughnuts for the press corps. Mr. Blakeman took questions on health care (like Mr. Brown, he is against the health care legislation being mulled in Congress), gay marriage (he is against it) and Barack Obama's proposed tax on investment banker bonuses (against). Asked what he would do for people who are worried about losing their health care coverage or do not have health insurance, Mr. Blakeman said he had no particular plan of his own but believed that Democrats in Washington were bent on "dismantling" a system that already worked reasonably well. ...

Supreme Court: Campaign-Finance Limits Violate Free Speech

Warren Richey -- Christian Science Monitor

The US Supreme Court has struck down a major portion of a 2002 campaign-finance reform law, saying it violates the free-speech right of corporations to engage in public debate of political issues. In a landmark 5-to-4 decision announced Thursday, the high court overturned a 1990 legal precedent and reversed a position it took in 2003, when a different lineup of justices upheld government restrictions on independent political expenditures by corporations during elections. "Government may not suppress political speech on the basis of the speaker's corporate identity," Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote in the 57-page majority opinion. "No sufficient governmental interest justifies limits on the political speech of nonprofit or for-profit corporations." ...

"The World Bids Farewell To Obama"

Charles Hawley -- Der Spiegel (DE)

From the center-left daily Süddeutsche Zeitung, in Germany: "Obama made a serious misjudgement. Right at the beginning of his first year in office, he saved the banks, rescued the automobile industry from collapse and passed a huge economic stimulus package. He had hoped that these enormous deeds would give him the space to address those issues which are dearest to him: health care reform, climate change and investment in education. Those issues, however, are clearly not priorities for people in the US at the moment. Scott Brown campaigned on two promises, both of which apparently struck a nerve with the electorate. He wants to block health care reform and he wants to find ways to reduce the enormous budget deficit. It is here where the roots of dissatisfaction with Obama are to be found. His reform agenda, in its current form, is highly suspect to Americans. And they have the impression that, if he continues piling up debt, he will be gambling away the country's future." ...

Appeals Court Told Obama 'Security Risk'; Lacks 'Constitutional Authority'

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

Attorney Mario Apuzzo filed the action with the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in January 2009 on behalf of Kerchner, Lowell T. Patterson, Darrell James Lenormand and Donald H. Nelson Jr. Named as defendants were Barack Hussein Obama II, the U.S., Congress, the Senate, House of Representatives, former Vice President Dick Cheney and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The case alleges Congress failed to follow the Constitution, which "provides that Congress must fully qualify the candidate 'elected' by the Electoral College Electors." The appeal said, "Plaintiffs allege that Obama has not conclusively proven that he was born in Hawaii. They also allege that even if he was so born, he cannot be an Article II 'natural born citizen' because his father was a British subject/citizen when Obama was born and Obama himself was born a British subject/citizen, all of which makes him ineligible to be president and commander in chief of the military." ...

Proposed Arizona Law: Dump Presidential Candidates Who Can't Prove Citizenship From Ballot

Howard Fischer -- Capitol Media Services

Barack Obama wants to run for reelection he would need to produce proof of both his U.S. birth and citizenship to get on the ballot in Arizona, if one state lawmaker gets her way. Rep. Judy Burges, R-Skull Valley, is preparing a law to require anyone running for president or vice president to provide proof to the Arizona Secretary of State's Office that they are legally eligible to seek the office. The U.S. Constitution requires the president -- and, by extension, the vice president -- to be "a natural born citizen." Burges would require the Secretary of State to verify that status independently. "If it's not certifiable, then that person's name would not go on the ballot," she said. ...

Secret Service Agents Pay Visits To Those Who Question Obama's Eligibility

Drew Zahn -- World Net Daily

In blogs, interviews and e-mails, "birthers" around the country are reporting surveillance and visits from the U.S. Secret Service, whose agents have questioned - or, as some report, intimidated - them over their insistence that Barack Obama prove his constitutional eligibility to serve as president. Stephen Pidgeon, an attorney for Washington state plaintiffs challenging Obama's eligibility, grew suspicious in March when his wife and coworkers reported being shadowed by police and three, black SUVs. "We are definitely under surveillance and it's coordinated with Homeland Security," Pidgeon alleged. The author of this story contacted the Secret Service and spoke with the agent Laudenslager reports visited him in Pennsylvania, but the agent explained he was not permitted to comment. ...

Yet again, Glenn Beck shows himself to be completely ignorant of the issue, while presuming to ridicule those who have taken the time to research it. The "certification of live birth" posted online and widely touted as "Obama's birth certificate" does not in any way prove he was born in Hawaii, since the same "short-form" document is easily obtainable for children not born in Hawaii.  Closed Chrysler Dealers To Challenge Obama's Eligibility

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

Two lawyers, Leo Donofrio and Stephen Pidgeon, have joined forces to assemble a case challenging in U.S. bankruptcy court the federal government's use of Troubled Asset Relief Program funds to bail out Chrysler and in doing so may have created a scenario that finally will bring to a head the issue of Barack Obama's eligibility to be president. Their new case questions the authority by which the federal government and administration officials intervened in the auto industry, specifically allocating some $8 billion-plus to Chrysler, which later was forgiven. The clients in the case are former Chrysler dealers who lost their businesses as part of the "restructuring" of the automobile company. They have been damaged with the loss of their businesses, and the case alleges the Obama administration, through its use of TARP money, influenced Chrysler's outcome. Along with a bankruptcy court challenge, a "quo warranto" case is being filed in Washington, D.C., demanding to know by what authority administration officials set up the financial arrangements with Chrysler and handed out taxpayer money. As part of the demand for information about the authority used, Donofrio confirmed, there will be questions about Obama's eligibility to be president. ...

Guest Editorial:
An Open Letter To
Glenn Beck

by Stephen Pidgeon, J.D.

Dear Mr. Beck:

You are ill-informed on the "birther" issue. Barack Obama, by his own admission, was a British subject at birth. He has never denied having a Kenyan father, who himself was a British subject as a Kenyan native. This is easly established under the British Nationality Act of 1948. He is therefore disqualified to run for the office of the President, because the office is not available to subjects of other governments. The issue is very simple, and very obvious. Obama himself admitted that he wasn't a natural born citizen when he debated Alan Keyes in 2004.

Let's see you deal with this one. There is nothing "nutty" about it, and it doesn't depend on whether his maternal grandmother tried to cover up a foreign birth in Hawaii by placing newspaper notices. It is as plain as your face. BHO is a foreign national first, and an American secondarily, if at all. That is why he thinks there are 57 states; why he doesn't understand the constitution; why he wants to give us Britain's health care system (it's all in the teeth, don't you know); why he thinks Interpol should have greater authority in the US than US law enforcement; etc. He is a British subject and has no business holding the office of POTUS.

If you think you can overlook this constitutional crisis as not part of the Rubicon, you are mistaken. One constitutional overlook breeds another and the next thing you know, the financial industry is nationalized, the auto industry is nationalized, the health care industry is about to be nationalized, and the energy industry will soon be nationalized.

Ultimately, it is all going to be okay, because socialism only lasts until other people's money (OPM) runs out, and binge spender BHO has spent all the money we have and all the money we will ever have for the next several generations. He spent all of this before he got his socialist healthcare on the table. He and his wife have partied like Eddie Murphy in The Distinguished Gentleman (1992) since taking office, while he has busied himself with overthrowing the constitutional republic, establishing a new Islamic empire worldwide, disarming and crippling America, and unilaterally dividing Israel and Jerusalem. The only budget constraint for Obama is ink and paper (and he is working his way around that) and his foreign policy advisor appears to be "mirror, mirror on the wall." He has bankrupted the nation, which the sleeping Oprah watchers are now discovering for the very first time. The reality of the bankruptcy will hit home with gusto in 2010. Not only will we suffer with 30% unemployment, a complete collapse of real estate, and a complete collapse of the dollar, we will also suffer the slings and arrows of dramatic military defeats, as we let this foreigner steer the ship of state. Most Americans have no idea how bad it is going to get.

As for Obama: he will be one of history's most reviled figures -- on a par with Nero -- as a fool who couldn't even understand that when he denigrated the United States, he was destroying the very state upon which his safety and his legacy depended. He will suffer dramatic defeat in Afghanistan and Iraq -- it will not be like Viet Nam, and his name will be tarred with it. It will be more like the disastrous defeat of Xerxes at Salamis, or the Ottomans at Sisek, or the Moors at Tours; a game changing defeat that will forever cement the destiny of the republic known as the United States of America. Obama will join the other names in history who suffered cataclysmic losses in the lands of Magog.

His legacy? A communist, collectivist fool, brainwashed by red diaper doper babies haunting the halls of ivy league academia whose agenda was to bring back the failed Bolshevik revolution worldwide, who brought his fully bloomed ignorance to power illegally in the US because of the needs of his narcissistic ego, whose illegitimacy caused the US to go bankrupt and to suffer its worst military setbacks in the history of the nation in just a few short months. History will marvel at the foolishness of Americans, and historians will wonder how we as a people could have allowed this to happen. Then, of course, historians will ultimately conclude that the demise of the greatest nation the world had ever known happened because the watchdogs whose duty it was to warn Americans of such possibilities -- the so-called news media -- conspired with foreign powers and global financial criminals to destroy America from the inside, as a result of their cowardice, malevolence and silence.

Glenn Beck: a media persona who simply could not bring himself to utter the truth about Obama -- that he is a usurper, holding the presidency illegally and unconstitutionally, because he is without a legal birthright. Let us never forget who shirked their duty to tell the truth in these last hours, and let us not allow history to forget.

Stephen Pidgeon, J.D.
Attorney at Law
Everett, Washington

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
