At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

Hip Pain And Replacement

Mayo Clinic

Video Every year thousands of people undergo hip replacement surgery to get rid of pain caused by arthritis. The good news is that most hip replacement operations are successful, and people who have them are pain free. But sometimes, after years of wear, those replacement joints can loosen. New technology is making that happen much less often. But for people who do experience pain because of a worn out replacement, doctors at Mayo Clinic have ways to fix the problem. ...

Scientists Grow New Penile Tissue In The Lab

BBC News (UK)

The advance raises hopes of being able to restore full function to human penises that have been damaged by injury or disease. Rabbits given the engineered tissue by the scientists from Wake Forest University in North Carolina had normal sexual function and produced offspring. Professor Anthony Atala said: "Further studies are required, of course, but our results are encouraging and suggest that the technology has considerable potential for patients who need penile reconstruction. ...

Government Demanded The IP Address Of Every Visitor To A Political News Site

Julian Sanchez -- Cato Institute

Recently, the Justice Department subpoenaed the system logs of left-leaning news aggregator site IndyMedia. According to tech journalist Declan McCullah, it instructed [System administrator Kristina] Clair to "include IP addresses, times, and any other identifying information," including e-mail addresses, physical addresses, registered accounts, and Indymedia readers' Social Security Numbers, bank account numbers, credit card numbers, and so on. The sweeping request came with a gag order prohibiting Clair from talking about it. Clair did tell attorneys at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, and when they wrote to U.S. Attorney Timothy Morrison questioning the propriety of the request, it was promptly withdrawn. ...

Apparently, Leno's Not A "10"

Bill Brioux -- MSNBC

"It's an enormous flop," said widely-read Mediaweek industry columnist Marc Berman, who doesn't see the show's ratings improving any time soon. "NBC is not popping open bottles of champagne celebrating Jay Leno." Then there is what Bill Carter and others have been calling "the Leno effect." The New York Times television columnist and author of "The Late Shift" (the book on the Leno/David Letterman toss up over "Tonight") said Leno's low 10 p.m. score has hurt NBC's entire schedule. ...

Elysa Gardner -- USA Today

"When we started doing it, I asked, 'Who's going to watch this?' " says Frank Biondo, 71, a camera operator with the series since it first aired on Nov. 10, 1969. "Back then, Big Bird had a different type of head, and Oscar the Grouch was orange. Then they changed some things, and we all thought it made more sense." Red Sox Planning A Spending Spree?

Peter Abraham -- Boston Globe

So we're talking to Theo Epstein Monday afternoon and he mentions that restructuring Tim Wakefield's deal will save the Sox $1.5 million on the CBT, which is GM-speak for the payroll luxury tax, or collective bargaining tax. "That's important because there's some things we want to do this winter and we don't have a ton of room under the CBT," Epstein said. Are the Red Sox leaving room for Roy Halladay and some other superstar? ...

Certifi-Gate! America In Captivity

We Stand At The Precipice, With A Usurper In The Oval Office

Lynn Stuter -- News With Views

We stand at the precipice of the totalitarian state with a man occupying the White House, usurping the Oval Office, who isn't an American; who has, by his own actions and words, declared himself a Marxist. The United States Congress, assembled, has refused to remove this usurper sitting illegitimately as our president. The United States Supreme Court, and lower courts, have refused to address the growing body of evidence that Barack Hussein Obama is not our legitimate president; going so far as to make the ludicrous claim that they cannot overturn the vote of millions, in essence saying that popular vote (if it could even be claimed to be uncorrupted) is above the law. ...

Michelle Contradicts Obama Nativity Story

Aaron Klein -- World Net Daily

In little noticed remarks, Michelle Obama stated at a public event that her husband's mother, Ann Dunham, was "very young and very single" when she gave birth to the future U.S. "president." Her comments further undermine the official story as told by Barack Obama: that Dunham was married to his father, Barack Obama Sr., at the time of birth. The official story claims Dunham and Obama, Sr. were married Feb. 2, 1961. The pair separated two years later and they divorced in 1964. Obama's father returned to Kenya and saw his son only once more before dying in an automobile accident in 1982. In actuality, it isn't clear Obama's parents were married, since official records have never been produced showing a legal ceremony took place. No wedding certificate or photograph of a ceremony for Dunham and Obama Sr. has ever been found or published. ...

Obama Eligibility Case Survives 1st Court Test

Bob Unruh -- World Net Daily

A federal judge in California listened to government lawyers argue that a lawsuit over Barack Obama's eligibility should be immediately dismissed but refused to grant their request, saying he would make his decision and announce it later. The result came from U.S. District Judge David Carter, who already has set a tentative trial date for the dispute Jan. 26, 2010. The judge also already had lawyers draw up a tentative schedule for hearings and deadlines in preparation for the trial. ...

A Hearing Monday Will Decide Whether Case Will Be Trashed Or Heard On Merits

Chelsea Schilling -- World Net Daily

A hearing Monday is set to determine whether the U.S. Justice Department will get its motion to dismiss a lawsuit challenging the constitutional eligibility of Barack Obama to hold the office of president or whether the case will move forward to be heard on its merits. One of three things will happen Monday: 1) the judge will make no decision and choose to issue a decision later, 2) the judge could grant the Department of Justice's motion and dismiss the case, or 3) all or part of the case will move forward. ...

D.N.C. Failed To Certify Obama As Eligible In 49 Out Of 50 States!

JB Williams -- Canada Free Press (CA)

The Obama camp had been using the defense that the DNC had properly vetted and certified Obama's eligibility for months. Judge after judge had used that claim and the fact that Obama's COLB (Certification of Live Birth) had been "Snoped - FactChecked - blogged and twittered" as "legal proof" that Obama was eligible for office, despite the very real fact that Obama has never released any authenticated proof on the subject. Then we find out that the DNC did NOT certify Obama as eligible under Article II, Section I of the Constitution, in 49 of 50 states. The DNC had only filed such certification in the state of Hawaii, Obama's alleged birth place. The other 49 states received a Certification of Nomination which did NOT certify Obama as constitutionally eligible for office. ...

Feminist Camille Paglia: Birthers Have A Point

World Net Daily

Feminist icon Camille Paglia, on the NPR program "On Point" this week, said "I reject the idea that the 'birther' campaign is motivated by racism. There may be racism among it, but there are legitimate questions about the documentation of Obama's birth certificate. I'm sorry, I've been following this closely from the start. To assume that all those signs about the birth controversy were motivated by racism, that is simply wrong." ...

Executed With Lethal Precision

Vanessa Buschschluter -- BBC News (UK)

Five minutes is the time it took for the cocktail of chemicals to work. He was given 15 to 20 seconds to make a final statement, but chose to remain silent. Before the execution, the media had been briefed about the exact procedure. "The condemned man is injected first with thiopental sodium, which induces a state of unconsciousness. The second chemical, pancuronium bromide, stops the breathing. And the third -- potassium chloride -- stops the heart," we learned from a statement sent by the Virginia Department of Corrections before even arriving at the prison. Before Execution, Little Sympathy For D.C. Sniper

Mara Gay -- Atlantic Monthly

In 2002, John Allen Muhammad terrorized the Washington, D.C. area when he and an accomplice went on a 23-day murder spree, killing 10 people before he was apprehended. Muhammad, better known as the "DC Sniper," was executed for his crimes in Virginia after the Supreme Court denied Muhammad's request for an appeal. Across the political spectrum, pundits have scant sympathy for the convicted killer, but his execution has elicited a rash of opinions about capital punishment, reigniting a longstanding debate. ...

Brian Kates -- New York Daily News

"I feel better. I think I can breathe better," Nelson Rivera said as he watched the execution of convicted killer John Allen Muhammad. "I'm glad he's gone because he's not going to hurt anyone else." Rivera's wife Lori Ann Lewis-Rivera, was one of Muhammad's 10 victims in a three-week killing spree in the Washington, D.C., area in October 2002. She was gunned down as she vacuumed her van at a Maryland gas station in 2002. After the execution, Steven Moore, whose sister, FBI analyst Linda Franklin, was one of the victims, said he thought Muhammad's accomplice, Lee Boyd Malvo, should also have been executed. "Well, myself, I wish Malvo was right there beside Muhammad," Moore said. "They both committed the same crimes. No, I don't feel any closure. I mean, it's ... it ... nothing changes." ...

Military Not Told About Ft. Hood Suspect's E-Mails

Julian E. Barnes and Josh Meyer -- Los Angeles Times

Defense officials said Tuesday that the department did not learn about Hasan's contacts with Awlaki until after the Ft. Hood shootings. "There was no U.S. Army or other Department of Defense organization that knew of any contact he had with Muslim extremists," said the senior Defense official, who requested anonymity when discussing the ongoing investigation. The FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Forces investigated e-mails that Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan sent over the last year to Anwar al Awlaki, an imam in Yemen who espouses a radical Islamist ideology and who has ties to militants. Task force members concluded that the communications posed no threat and had been undertaken as part of Hasan's research on Muslims, the military and post-traumatic stress disorders. ...

Who Is Anwar Al-Awlaki? Imam Contacted By Fort Hood Gunman Nidal Malik Hasan Has Long Radical Past

Ethan Sacks -- New York Daily News

Anwar al-Awlaki is back in the news after praising Nidal Malik Hasan's actions in the rampage on the U.S. Army base that claimed the lives of 13, calling the disgruntled major "a hero" on his blog. "He is a man of conscience who could not bear the contradiction of being a Muslim and fighting against his own people," Awlaki writes. Investigators have had Awlaki on their radar for a long time -- at least since the Sept. 11 attacks. The FBI questioned him about his role as "spiritual adviser" to Sept. 11 hijackers Nawaf al-Hamzi and Hani Hanjour at the Dar al-Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va. ...

Counterterrorism officials said today Hasan's communications were with Anwar al Awlaki, who news reports said was the imam at a Falls Church, Virginia, mosque when Hasan and his relatives worshipped there. Are Intelligence Officials Hiding Information About Fort Hood Shooter?

FOX News

Rep. Pete Hoekstra, the ranking Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, announced Monday that he's asked the heads of the FBI, NSA and CIA to "preserve" all documents and material connected to the attack. He said the administration has "critical information" that it is "refusing to release" to Congress and the public about the attack, and that lawmakers will want to "scrutinize" how intelligence officials handled information about the shooter before the attack. Hoekstra's announcement came as ABC News reported that intelligence agencies knew for months that Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan was trying to contact people associated with Al Qaeda. The report said it was unclear whether the agencies informed the Army. Sen. Joe Lieberman also told "Fox News Sunday" that he will launch a congressional investigation into the attack -- including into whether there were "warning signs" that the U.S. Army should have acted upon. ...

Fort Hood Suspect Warned Of Muslim Threat Within Military

FOX News

The Army psychiatrist suspected of killing 13 people at Fort Hood reportedly warned senior Army physicians in 2007 that the military should allow Muslim soldiers be released as conscientious objectors instead of fighting in wars to avoid "adverse events." Major Nidal Malik Hasan was supposed to make a presentation on a medical topic during his senior year as a psychiatric resident at Walter Reed Medical Center. Instead, Hasan lectured his supervisors and two dozen mental health staff members on Islam, homicide bombings and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting against other Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan. A source who attended the presentation told the paper, "It was really strange. The senior doctors looked really upset." ...

FBI Set To Probe Fort Hood Gunman Nidal Hasan's 9/11 Links

Jenny Booth -- London Times (UK)

It has emerged that Major Nidal Malik Hasan's family attended the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Centre in Falls Church, Virginia, and that the funeral of his mother, Hanan, was held there on May 31 2001. At that time the imam of the mosque was Anwar al-Awlaki, a Muslim radical who saw Islam and America as enemies. Interviewed by the FBI after the September 11 terror attacks, Mr Awlaki admitted meeting hijacker Nawaf al-Hazmi several times in San Diego before he moved to Virginia in early 2001. Troubling Portrait Emerges Of Fort Hood Suspect

Brett J. Blackledge -- Associated Press

There are many unknowns about Nidal Malik Hasan, the man authorities say is responsible for the worst mass killing on a U.S. military base. Most of all, his motive. But details of his life and mindset, emerging from official sources and personal acquaintances from officials and are troubling. While an intern at Walter Reed, Hasan had some "difficulties" that required counseling and extra supervision, said Dr. Thomas Grieger, who was the training director at the time. Grieger said privacy laws prevented him from going into details but noted that the problems had to do with Hasan's interactions with patients. "He swore an oath of loyalty to the military," Grieger said. But, at least six months ago, Hasan came to the attention of law enforcement officials because of Internet postings about suicide bombings and other threats, including posts that equated suicide bombers to soldiers who throw themselves on a grenade to save the lives of their comrades. ...

How Freeing Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix Zero-One From The Borg Collective Provoked a Constitutional Crisis On 21st-Century Earth
... or ...
Bait for the "Birther"-debunkers

by Robert Jay March

Actress Jeri Ryan, best known to the American public as "Seven of Nine" on the series "Star Trek -- Voyager," is responsible for the whole mess. No, I haven't taken leave of my senses ... not yet anyway ... as the following narrative will show.

In 1990, then-Jeri Lynn Zimmermann met future political candidate Jack Ryan, married him on June 15, 1991, and ultimately divorced him on August 27, 1999. When Jack Ryan was running for the Senate on the Republican ticket in 2004, WLS-TV, the Chicago ABC affiliate, sought to have his divorce and child custody records released. In print, if it bleeds it leads; on TV, if it skewers, it attracts viewers.

When the custody records were released after a protracted court battle, it was revealed that Jack Ryan had repeatedly asked, begged and cajoled Jeri to perform sexual acts in public in various sex clubs. Ms. Ryan described one of these clubs as "a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling." Obviously not a "family values" kind of guy, Jack Ryan's poll numbers were plummeting faster than an ejected warp-core falling into a black hole. He was force to withdraw from the race, and was replaced by Alan Keyes, who lost to ... wait for it ... Barack Obama!

Barack Obama's very first act as "President" made it illegal to release any of his records. "EXECUTIVE ORDER 13489 -- PRESIDENTIAL RECORDS," signed by Barack Obama on January 21, 2009, begins as follows: "By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America ..."

As I have said over and over and over again, if there is nothing to hide, why hide it? Yet, the very first thing he did as alleged-President was sign an Executive Order that locks all of his records -- including his personal ones -- away from public view. This leaves us in a legal mobius loop: If his personal records prove that he is ineligible, then he is not President, and the Executive Order is null and void, but in order to prove that he is ineligible, one must have access to his personal records. Quoting the eminent philosopher Homer Simpson,
   "DOH!"

It is interesting to note that, in the private sector, Obama was employed by the law firm of Miner, Barnhill & Galland, which describes itself as "one of the best-known and most experienced firms in the country in large-scale voting rights cases." As such, they have done extensive Constitutional research, such as that cited in a case wherein Obama was one of the lawyers representing ACORN, ACORN V. EDGAR.

It is rumored that Miner, Barnhill & Galland also researched ways and means of getting around Article II Section 1 of the Constitution ("No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President...") Now, read that Executive Order again.

If only Jeri had let her hubby get his freak on, the nation may have been spared all of this; but nooooooo, she left us with a typically-Republican sex scandal (two straight people and no sex) which ultimately led to a Constitutionally unqualified man being elected President.

By now, many of you are asking yourselves why I even bothered to write about this. Simple: half the country believes that Obama is not legally qualified, and the other half simply has not looked at the evidence, assuming we're all nuts, racists, or both.

Those people won't be able to resist reading this article: It embarrasses Republicans, it involves science fiction, has sex, intrigue, and a gorgeous woman whose talents let her rise to the top (or vice versa). They'll pass this around as evidence that the "Birthers" have finally lost it; and, a very few of them will be intrigued enough to actually check the facts, just as I did when I did not believe it, and realize that we're right.

Resistance is futile. It just takes a while.

Speaking from the Rose Garden about 14 hours after the late Saturday vote, Obama urged senators to be like runners on a relay team and "take the baton and bring this effort to the finish line on behalf of the American people." Japan To Tell Obama It Wants Okinawa Marine Base Closed

Akiko Fujita -- Voice Of America

Audio AND TEXT. In a recent poll by one of Japan's national newspapers, nearly 70 percent of Okinawans said they opposed moving Futenma to another part of the island. The same percentage think Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama should negotiate with the U.S. to move Futenma out of the prefecture or the country altogether. Washington, however, has dismissed that idea. "Without the Futenma realignment, the Futenma facility, there will be no relocation to Guam," U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates said. "Without relocation to Guam there will be no consolidation of forces and return of land in Okinawa." ...

Rep. Cantor Says Congress's Broad Support For Israel Could Be Weakening

Hilary Leila Krieger -- Jerusalem Post (IL)

"There have been incidences of late that do indicate that we have challenges on that front, and I'm very committed to doing everything I can to make sure that Congress remains Israel's strongest ally in the quest for what it needs in terms of its security." Cantor said, before addressing the Jewish Federations of North America's annual General Assembly. "I have a lot of concerns about what I have seen lately, about the continued desire to try to engage with Iran and about pressure being applied to Israel in terms of concessions in the name of peace," said Cantor, the No. 2 Republican in the House and its only Jewish Republican. "Israel is a pillar in our national security strategy and we ought to be emphasizing every bit of our commitment to Israel right now as it faces an existential threat," he said. ...

Toll Brothers Shows New Foundation

Bob O'Brien -- Barron's Magazine

The rather exceptional October-ending fourth-quarter performance turned in by Toll Brothers (TOL) offered a fresh read on the state of the housing market. While some recent data on new-home sales, notably the quarter reported by Beazer Homes (BZH), gave Wall Street reason to be increasingly constructive - pardon the pun - on the state of the homebuilding market, the performance of a luxury builder like Toll suggests that any incremental improvement in homebuilding isn't confined to entry-level buying driven by tax credits. ...

That book is Obama campaign manager David Plouffe's The Audacity to Win: The Inside Story and Lessons of Barack Obama's Historic Victory. The Book Of Genesis, Illustrated By R. Crumb

Henry Allen -- Washington Post

The words come from both the King James Version and a recent translation by Robert Alter. The pictures come from Crumb's pen, the same sort of art pen that he's done all of his life's work with -- all of it, no pastels, watercolors, pencil, just this pen scritching away for half a century in a fury of crosshatching and black-and-white starkness. God said . . . R. Crumb? Here they are, together at last on the first page of this book, Crumb drawing God as if he were a madman inventor, beard and hair down to his ankles, and the whites of his eyes showing over the tops of his irises and his hairy, thick-fingered hands grasping what looks like a combination of a circle saw and a black hole, "without form, and void."

Obama's Secret Deal To Sabotage Israel

Barak Ravid and Natasha Mozgovaya -- Haaretz (IZ)

The reports indicated that Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has reached a secret understanding with the Obama administration over U.S. recognition of an independent Palestinian state. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout out to that Congressional Medal of Honor winner. It's good to see you," Obama said. Obama's Violations Of Posse Comitatus
(18 USC § 1385) And 10th Amendment

Joe Wolverton, II -- New American Magazine

The unconstitutional use of American military forces within the United States is back in the news as reports have recently been released reviewing the progress the US Army Northern Command (NORTHCOM) has made in training with other federal, state, and local peace officers and agencies. Constitutionalists will find these maneuvers worrisome as they are gross violations of the black letter and the spirit of the Posse Comitatus Act. Former NYPD detective and U.S. Marine intelligence officer, Sid Frances has called upon the state houses and Governors to assert their constitutionally guaranteed sovereignty and outright refuse to place their state forces under the command of federal officers. "I cannot understand why the federal government is so intent on using such military force within our borders. It reminds me of the Branch Dividian massacre in Waco, Texas, when the feds used that deadly physical force based on false information." ...

Obama's 1-World Government

Chuck Norris -- World Net Daily

Flying deep under Washington's radar is an upcoming (December) global climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, under the guise of the "United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change." Virtually nothing has been said about it from the White House. But then again, I'm sure they think, who could be against working together for climate change? It all sounds pretty politically benign, doesn't it? Like with Congress' drafts of Obamacare, should we not be concerned because the current draft of the treaty may not be the final version, especially when the present language smacks of an abandonment of the principles upon which our republic was founded? ...

Obama's Olympic Failure Will Only Add To Doubts About His Presidency

Tim Reid -- London Times (UK)

There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama's presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence. Chicago's dismal showing, after Mr Obama's personal, impassioned last-minute pitch, is a stunning humiliation for this President. It cannot be emphasised enough how this will feed the perception that on the world stage he looks good, but carries no weight. ...

Is The Current Unrest All Obama's Fault?

Patrick Samuels -- Gather

The unrest we are seeing across this county is now on a scale not seen since the war protests of the sixties. Yet this is very different. Today's protesters cross the socioeconomic spectrum, they are from both political parties and no political party. What unites them is not age or drugs or religion. What has brought all these Americans together is a mixture of anger and fear. The fear is for the future, their own and their children's. They fear the results of too much spending and borrowing. They fear an administration that puts those who disagree with them on watch lists and uses mob-like tactics of intimidation to get its way. They are angry with a congress that rushes legislation through without reading it. They are angry with a government that ignores their concerns, labels them with sexual innuendoes and is indignant when anyone dares question their wisdom or methods. They are angry with a government that demonizes business for jets and junkets yet enjoys all those perks and more on our dime. ...

March Report Podcast

News and Opinion Presented by Robert Jay March

52:36. Recorded
Friday, October 30, 2009
TOPICS DISCUSSED:

Is Glenn Beck a Hero, a Coward ... or BOTH?

Indisputibly, Glenn Beck has provided heroic service to this country on his radio and cable-tv program by exposing the unconstitutional socialization of the United States by the Obama Administration. That said, it appears that he has caved to pressure regarding Certifi-Gate, the occupation of the White House by a constitutionally ineligible electee. Robert Jay March thoroughly analyzes this, exposing the pressures that he and other on-air talent have had placed them by corporate honchos who care more about their profits than our country.
Fox News was set up by Roger Ailes, a former president of CNBC and the late, lamented America's Talking Network, the pre-cursor of MSNBC. March discusses the hidden motivation behind Ailes' building of Fox News into the only television news operation that is not a press-release service for the Obama Administration, not to mention crushing MSNBC and CNN. Do you think the execs at GE are wishing they could turn the clock back?
What does the late, unlamented Hernando Cortés have to do with MarchReport.com? Robert Jay March explains the two-month gap since his last podcast, as he worked behind the scenes to make MarchReport.com bigger and better, while burning all his other boats behind him. March describes how he came to be disabled and home-bound eight years ago, yet continued to work 100 to 120 hours a week running two businesses throughout it all.
Manuel Zelaya, the deposed President of Honduras, who was legally removed from office in accordance with the Honduran Constitution, is being returned to office as a result of pressure from the Obama administration. Hmmm ... they pressured the Honduran Government to restore a President who had violated their Constitution and been legally removed from office. Wonder why? March thinks he knows.

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.
