At the request of some of our readers, discerning and literate bunch that you all are, commencing with the May 1, 2008 issue we began archiving the March Report in a form suitable for presentation. Be advised that some of the links to external sites on the archived pages will have gone dead. Morte. Kaputski. That being the case, archives will be deleted, or replaced with an image of the headline area only, as the page itself becomes useless (assuming that it wasn't to begin with, which may be presumptuous in and of itself).

Capt. Lou Albano Dies At 76

Kevin Eck -- Baltimore Sun

He was the maker of champions. The Guiding Light. Often imitated, never duplicated. He was the greatest professional wrestling manager that I have ever seen. Capt. Lou Albano, who died Thursday morning at 76, was one of the most recognizable and over-the-top characters in the business during his heyday in the WWWF and WWF in the '70s and '80s. ...

March Report Podcast

News and Opinion Presented with Gales of Derisive Laughter by Robert Jay March

44:32. Recorded
Friday, August 21, 2009
TOPIC DISCUSSED:

On Wednesday, The FOX Broadcast Network aired 'Octomom: The Incredible Unseen Footage.' That light at the end of the tunnel is the Octomom trainwreck, heading right at you. NOW she asks, "What was I thinking?" Gloria Allred and Paul Petersen, who played Donna Reed's TV son Jeff, are taking Nadya Suleman to court to impose guardianship on the children. Allred even has the gall to cite the Dionne quintuplets as an example, conveniently omitting the fact that it was interference by the Government that caused all the quint's problems.
Did you know that popcorn and chocolate are actually good for you? That's what the latest scientific research says, and Robert revels in it.
The "Big Joe Polka Show" may be in trouble. They're losing their lead-in: Don Imus, who is rumored to be taking the simulcast of his syndicated WABC Radio Show away from RFD-TV to Fox Business Network. Oh, and by the way, former Imus sportscaster Sid Rosenberg finally got a job, landing on his feet in a manner he did not contemplate a few years ago. Robert discusses both. (Note: Since this podcast was recorded, it has been announced that Don Imus and RFD have gone their separate ways, and that Imus has signed with Fox)
Are the "birthers" racists? That's what one of our readers says. Robert reads her emotional letter and responds at length with both logic and emotion.
John Conyers recently said, "I love these members, they get up and say, 'Read the bill.' What good is reading the bill if it's 1,000 pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find what it means after you read the bill?" Robert explains it, citing the example of James Madison, 4th President of the United States and one of the principal architects of the Constitution.

Rants & Raves from Our Readers

A reader who wishes to remain anonymous sent in this criticism:

Mr. March, You linked the video of Hillary Clinton having what has been referred to as an 'outburst' on your site, yet, you did not explain the context. You omitted the truth and presented the situation as another crazy Clinton moment. You not only misportrayed the situation, you lost an opportunity to share/address the plight of women who have no rights in their country. I have been a long time reader of your March Report and have shared the Report with many people. I wrote to you addressing the Clinton video and have seen no retraction or explanation. I won't be referring anyone to this page anymore. My belief and trust that you maintain objectivity and research all sides has been permanently altered recently. Consevative or not, you have always seemed to work at being fair and true to journalism. I now am seeing you differently.

Robert Jay March Responds:

This reader has mischaracterized the report. In fact, we went out of way to add clarity to the situation. The copy proved by WMAQ-TV, the televsion station which provide the report through one of our syndicators, said "A Congolese university student seems to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's." In order to portray the situation accurately, we rewrote the copy to read as follows (emphasis added): "As a result of a translator's error, a Congolese university student appears to presume that Bill Clinton's opinion is more important than the current Secretary of State's. Hillary explodes, and hilarity ensues. Oh, those wacky, wacky Clintons." That was all the information that was available on August 11, 2009, when we ran the story. Witty retort aside, we went out of our way to clarify the report. Further details from the State Department and the White House did not become available until the following day.

Another reader, who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "Needles," has an unusual take on the Certifi-Gate crisis:

The birthers need to step back and consider the consequences of their actions. If Mr. Obama were to be declared ineligible, there are several possible outcomes. They could remove him from office and install Joe Biden as President. The argument would be made that if Mr. Obama was not eligible to run for President, then the ticket is invalid as well and Joe Biden should not be Vice President. The next person in the order of succession would be Speaker of the House; Nancy Pelosi. Because no eligible candidate received a majority of electoral votes, the selection of the President could be thrown into the House. Speaker Nancy Pelosi, would then be king-maker. The choices are Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi or someone Nancy Pelosi picks. Maybe it is best to leave the birth certificate matter alone.

Robert Jay March Responds:

Mr. Obama being declared ineligible does not legally invalidate Biden's election, provided he is qualified. Even if it did, the Constitution is too important to ignore; it is all that separates us from tyranny. Regardless of the consequences, if in fact Mr. Obama is ineligible, he must be removed. That said, all we have thus far is the preponderance of evidence leading to a likely conclusion, not conclusive facts. That is why the revelation of the long-form birth certificate is so important.

Finally, a third reader who wish to be referred to by the nom de plume "unihawker," writes:

Dear Mr. March, I was watching TV the other night and they showed a clip of Obama in Kenya during his trip there during the campaign. I am not sure if it was just some Freudian slip or not, but he said as he was waiving to the people greeting him, "Thank you, it is great to be back home". My question was, If he was not born in that country why would he call it home?

Robert Jay March Responds:

Good question, for which I have no answer. If this report is correct, it is yet another contribution to the preponderance of evidence that implies Mr. Obama is ineligible. A copy of the long form birth certificate would cost Mr. Obama $12; thus far he has spent $1.3 Million to avoid producing it. As in any investigation, follow the money: in this case, what money is being spent on to conceal.

Nurses To Sue New York Over Vaccination Mandate

Mark O'Brien -- WTEN-TV

Count four Albany, N.Y. nurses among those scared of H1N1. Not the virus itself, but of the vaccine for it that New York is requiring all health care workers to receive by the end of November. "Receiving the vaccine doesn't mean you're not going to get the flu," says Lorna Patterson, an emergency room nurse at Albany Medical Center. She is one of the four nurses who are planning to file a lawsuit this week against New York in order to stop the state from enforcing its mandatory vaccinations. "I have had more staff that have become ill after the flu vaccines this year than coworkers that have actually come down with the illness," Patterson says. She's been a nurse for 28 years, but during that time has only been vaccinated once, for influenza in the early 1990's. Instead she prefers proper hygiene, such as washing hands and covering her mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, over a vaccine. ...

Zazi Taken Seriously By Al-Qaeda

Brett J. Blackledge -- Associated Press

Mustafa Abu al-Yazid, an Egyptian reputed to be one of the founders of the terrorist network, used a middleman to contact Najibullah Zazi, the Afghan immigrant charged in the plot, two intelligence officials said. Officials declined to say whether al-Yazid offered Zazi mere encouragement or substantive help with the alleged plot. Al-Yazid's contact with Zazi, 24, indicates that al-Qaeda leadership took an intense interest in what U.S. officials have called one of the most serious terrorism threats crafted on U.S. soil since the 9/11 attacks. ...

Russia: We'll Nuke 'Aggressors' First

Nathan Hodge -- Wired

Russia is weighing changes to its military doctrine that would allow for a "preventive" nuclear strike against its enemies - even those armed only with conventional weapons. The news comes just as American diplomats are trying to get Russia to cut down its nuclear stockpile, and put the squeeze on Iran's suspect nuclear program. In an interview published today in Izvestia, Nikolai Patrushev, the secretary of the Kremlin's security council, said the new doctrine offers "different options to allow the use of nuclear weapons, depending on a certain situation and intentions of a would-be enemy. In critical national security situations, one should also not exclude a preventive nuclear strike against the aggressor." ...

Egypt Groups Target Mubarak Son

BBC News (UK)

Opposition groups in Egypt have started a campaign to block President Hosni Mubarak from passing power to his son. The campaign is called Mayehkomsh?, loosely translated "Who gave you the right?". It is organised by Ayman Nour, a presidential challenger in 2005. Organizers said it was a battle against the political system, rather than a campaign aimed at Gamal Mubarak. "Our constitution is for a republic not a kingdom. This is a campaign to confront this irregular... illogical state," said Ayman Nour. ...

Silvio Berlusconi Attempts To Duck Afghanistan Bribe Scandal

Tom Coghlan and Nico Hines -- London Times (UK)

Silvio Berlusconi today sought to duck the blame for a series of secret Italian payments to Taleban fighters that left French soldiers exposed in Afghanistan. The Italian Prime Minister denied any knowledge of money paid to Afghan warlords in an apparent attempt to divert attention over the clandestine deals to his predecessor's administration. When French soldiers arrived to assume control of the Sarobi area, east of Kabul, in mid-2008, they were not informed that the departing Italians had kept the region relatively peaceful by paying local Taleban fighters to remain inactive. Western officials say that because the French knew nothing of the payments they made a catastrophically incorrect threat assessment. ...

Accusing South Korea of repeatedly sending battleships into its territorial waters, North Korea said Seoul is deliberately trying to raise tension and dampen thawing ties between the divided states. "It is clear to everyone what consequences the third skirmish in the West Sea of Korea will entail," the North's Navy said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency. Clashes in 1999 and 2002 led to the deaths of dozens of sailors on both sides, South Korean military officials say, denying their Navy has intruded north of the Northern Limit Line. ...

Holly Sanders Ware -- New York Post

Chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr. and CEO Janet Robinson told employees yesterday that they have decided not to sell the Globe, saying the paper has "significantly improved" its financial performance by consolidating printing facilities, boosting newsstand and subscription prices and winning $20 million in union concessions, among other measures. The decision follows months of uncertainty over the future of New England's largest daily. Earlier this year, the Times threatened to shut down the Globe, saying it was on track to lose $85 million, unless the unions agreed to cuts. Despite easier access to abortion with restrictions being relaxed in many countries, the number of abortions fell from an estimated 45.5 million in 1995 to 41.6 million in 2003, the report by the U.S.-based Guttmacher Institute said. But the study found a stubbornly high number -- almost 20 million -- of unsafe abortions, mostly in poorer countries and often carried out by the women themselves using inappropriate drugs or herbal potions, or by untrained traditional healers. "It is significant and tragic that while the overall rate of abortion is on the decline, unsafe abortion has not declined," said Sharon Camp, president of the Guttmacher Institute, a think-tank which studies sexual and reproductive health. ...

Program Eases Trauma Of Chemotherapy Side Effects

Deborah Charles -- Reuters

When Michele VonGerichten started chemotherapy to treat her breast cancer, one of her big worries was that her newly bald head would distract attention as she tried to carry on with her marketing job. "It was just devastating to me, the thought of losing my hair," said the marketing and public relations executive for a boat manufacturer in Florida. "I have to meet with customers and dealers. And with my co-workers ... I wanted to make sure they were going to be looking at me and focusing on me, and focusing on what I was helping them with ... and not staring at my head, or looking at my face and asking 'Why do you look so different?'" VonGerichten found help from Look Good ... Feel Better, a national public service program that helps women cope with the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. ...

Crowd Control Gets Intelligent

Dave Lee -- BBC News (UK)

Predicting how large crowds will react in certain situations has long been the holy-grail for architects and planners. Many factors, such as a person's emotions or intelligence, can determine how they act when confronted with a busy scene or an emergency. Crowd simulation software has always tried to recreate realistic behaviour, but the unpredictable nature of people is yet to be faithfully replicated. But new software designed by the University of Milano-Bicocca hopes to change the way in which we simulate crowd control. ...

Is The Large Hadron Collider Being Sabotaged From The Future?

Lauren Davis -- io9.com (HU)

The quest to observe the Higgs boson has certainly been plagued by its share of troubles, from the cancellation of the Superconducting Supercollider in 1993 to the Large Hadron Collider's streak of technical troubles. In fact, the projects have suffered such bad luck that Holger Bech Nielsen of the Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen and Masao Ninomiya of the Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics in Kyoto wonder if it isn't bad luck at all, but future influences rippling back to sabotage them. In papers like "Test of Effect From Future in Large Hadron Collider: a Proposal" and "Search for Future Influence From LHC," they put forth the notion that observing the Higgs boson would be such an abhorrent event that the future is actually trying to prevent it from happening. ...

How Plants Recognise Siblings

Hardeep Sidhu -- TopNews (IN)

Siblings, grown from the seeds of the same mother, play nice when planted next to each other. But the moment one of them is thrown in with strangers, it begins competing by rapidly growing more roots to take up the water and mineral nutrients. This discovery was made by Susan Dudley, evolutionary plant ecologist at the McMaster University in Hamilton. So when Harsh Bais, assistant professor of soil science, University of Delaware (UD), who has researched plant signalling systems, read Dudley's study, he wanted to find the mechanism behind the sibling recognition. ...

Michael Dell Says Own Netbooks Poor

MNM Media

Dell's namesake Michael Dell in a talk late Tuesday criticized both his own products and Microsoft. Despite his company offering multiple netbooks, including the Mini 10, the CEO largely dismissed the category and said a "fair amount" of buyers are unhappy with them for both their smaller screens and slow performance. Many existing notebook owners in particular often come back disappointed as they lose what they liked about their larger portables. ...

Deaf Users Sound Off On Sidekick Outage

Ina Fried -- c|net News

When the T-Mobile Sidekick started having data problems two weeks ago, it was a big pain for nearly all of the company's roughly 800,000 subscribers. But it became particularly rough for the many deaf people who have been among the Sidekick's most loyal fan base. Because the Sidekick didn't evolve as fast as other smartphones, many users -- deaf and hearing alike -- moved to the BlackBerry and other devices. And after their recent experiences, many of the remaining Sidekick users in the deaf community have said they are considering jumping ship, once their T-Mobile contracts end. ...

Obama's Olympic Failure Will Only Add To Doubts About His Presidency

Tim Reid -- London Times (UK)

There has been a growing narrative taking hold about Barack Obama's presidency in recent weeks: that he is loved by many, but feared by none; that he is full of lofty vision, but is actually achieving nothing with his grandiloquence. Chicago's dismal showing, after Mr Obama's personal, impassioned last-minute pitch, is a stunning humiliation for this President. It cannot be emphasised enough how this will feed the perception that on the world stage he looks good, but carries no weight. ...

Is The Current Unrest All Obama's Fault?

Patrick Samuels -- Gather

The unrest we are seeing across this county is now on a scale not seen since the war protests of the sixties. Yet this is very different. Today's protesters cross the socioeconomic spectrum, they are from both political parties and no political party. What unites them is not age or drugs or religion. What has brought all these Americans together is a mixture of anger and fear. The fear is for the future, their own and their children's. They fear the results of too much spending and borrowing. They fear an administration that puts those who disagree with them on watch lists and uses mob-like tactics of intimidation to get its way. They are angry with a congress that rushes legislation through without reading it. They are angry with a government that ignores their concerns, labels them with sexual innuendoes and is indignant when anyone dares question their wisdom or methods. They are angry with a government that demonizes business for jets and junkets yet enjoys all those perks and more on our dime. ...

Fact Checker: Health Insurance Industry Reports

Washington Post

Health insurers released two reports this week warning that the reform legislation passed by the Senate Finance Committee would result in soaring premiums. Both reports -- by PricewaterhouseCoopers for America's Health Insurance Plans and by Oliver Wyman for Blue Cross Blue Shield -- predict premium increases of $3,000 to $4,000 per year for the typical family without employer-based coverage. The finance panel's bill "would have the unintended consequence of increasing premiums and making coverage unaffordable for millions of people," the Blues' chief executive, Scott Serota, wrote in a letter to Congress attached to his group's report. ...

Nobelist Obama Turning Whiny As His Medal Is Tested

Michael Goodwin -- New York Post

Poor Barack Obama. Everybody is picking on him. Some people don't understand how hard his job is. Others are just mean and selfish. That's the latest White House whine, as though the most powerful man in the world is a victim of sinister domestic forces beyond his reach. The woe-is-me complaints suggest the occupant of the Oval Office, Nobel Prize and all, is feeling weak and small. Yikes. No wonder the world is ganging up on us. ...

Majority Of Nobel Jury 'Objected To Obama Prize'

Agence France-Presse (FR)

Three of the five members of the Norwegian Nobel Committee had objections to the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to US President Barack Obama, the Norwegian tabloid Verdens Gang (VG) reported Thursday. "VG has spoken to a number of sources who confirmed the impression that a majority of the Nobel committee, at first, had not decided to give the peace prize to Barack Obama," the newspaper said. "The committee was unanimous," its influential secretary Geir Lundestad said on Friday. But Inger-Marie Ytterhorn, who represented the right-wing populist Progress Party on the committee, led the way in objecting to the choice of Obama because she questioned his ability to keep his promises, the newspaper said. ...

Rangel Faces Upstart Challenge From Former Ally

Hasani Gittens -- WNBC-TV

Contentious congressman Charlie Rangel in 2010 will face a challenger to the seat he's held for nearly 40 years -- and his new foe is a former friend. Fellow Harlem Democrat Vincent Morgan, who served as campaign director for Rangel in 2002, has announced his intention to run for the seat in the 15th Congressional District. "It's time to think about what comes after Charlie. His tenure has made Rangel one of the most powerful politicians in the city and country, but he is currently involved in a sprawling ethics investigation and calls for his dethroning as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee are growing louder -- but Morgan calls the timing of this challenge a "coincidence." ...

Social Security To Make It Official: No C.O.L.A.

Stephen Ohlemacher -- Associated Press

There will be no cost of living increase for Social Security recipients next year, the first year without one since automatic adjustments were adopted in 1975. The announcement comes as Barack Obama and key members of Congress call for a second round of $250 payments to more than 50 million seniors, veterans, retired railroad workers and people with disabilities. The payments would be equal to about a 2 percent increase for the average Social Security recipient. The cost: $13 billion. ...

New Senate Fight Over 9/11 Terrorist Trials

J. Taylor Rushing -- The Hill

Senate Republicans plan to push a provision aimed at blocking the Obama administration from trying in U.S. civilian courts any terrorists who plotted the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. An amendment by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) would "prohibit the use of funds for the prosecution in Article III courts of the United States of individuals involved in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks." Graham and others want the 9/11 suspects tried instead in a military commission at the U.S. prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, raising a variety of concerns that civilian courts are ill-equipped for such high-stakes trials involving potential national security secrets. ...

David Tennant And Simon Pegg For Burke And Hare

John Moore -- Den of Geek

David Tennant keeps finding post-Doctor Who work, as he teams up with Simon Pegg and John Landis for Burke and Hare. The story, of two infamous bodysnatchers famous for delivering their wares a little warmer than usual, brings forth a whole avalanche of comic-horror possibilities, and the idea of those two kinetic personalities bouncing off each other in natty victorian garb is certainly an exciting prospect - Pegg already having proved himself attuned to Landis' schtick with Shaun Of The Dead. ...

Group Bidding To Buy St. Louis Rams Drops 'Distraction' Limbaugh

Washington Post

"Rush was to be a limited partner -- as such, he would have had no say in the direction of the club or in any decisions regarding personnel or operations," Dave Checketts, the chairman of hockey's St. Louis Blues said in a written statement. "This was a role he enthusiastically embraced. However, it has become clear that his involvement in our group has become a complication and a distraction to our intentions, endangering our bid to keep the team in St. Louis. As such, we have decided to move forward without him and hope it will eventually lead us to a successful conclusion." Limbaugh said on air Wednesday: "This is not about the NFL. It's not about the St. Louis Rams. It's not about me. This is about the ongoing effort by the left in this country, wherever you find them, in the media, the Democratic party, or wherever, to destroy conservatism, to prevent the mainstreaming of anyone who is prominent as a conservative. D.N.C. Failed To Certify Obama As Eligible In 49 Out Of 50 States!

JB Williams -- Canada Free Press (CA)

The Obama camp had been using the defense that the DNC had properly vetted and certified Obama's eligibility for months. Judge after judge had used that claim and the fact that Obama's COLB (Certification of Live Birth) had been "Snoped - FactChecked - blogged and twittered" as "legal proof" that Obama was eligible for office, despite the very real fact that Obama has never released any authenticated proof on the subject. Then we find out that the DNC did NOT certify Obama as eligible under Article II, Section I of the Constitution, in 49 of 50 states. The DNC had only filed such certification in the state of Hawaii, Obama's alleged birth place. The other 49 states received a Certification of Nomination which did NOT certify Obama as constitutionally eligible for office. ...

Mass-Media Coverup Exposed

by Robert Jay March

On the Certifi-Gate Page, we link to a story I urge you to read in full, "Media Blackout On Obama Eligibility Dates Back To November" by Douglas Hagmann & Judi McLeod, which was brought to our attention by a regular reader, Ursula. In that my own sources have told me that Jeffrey Immelt has imposed such a blackout at NBC and MSNBC due to his desire to protect and increase G.E.'s Defense Contracts, I contacted the authors and asked the following question: "I do not expect you to compromise your source, but can you say that the network you refer to in your story is not NBC/MSNBC?"

Douglas J. Hagmann wrote back, saying:

I will go beyond a non-denial.

First, there are multiple networks involved. Secondly, my statement below does not relate to the signed statement from the talk show host, but it should more than answer your question. Use it as you wish:

At approximately 12:30 pm On March 23, 2009, I interviewed a source outside of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City who works in an administrative support position at a nearby network. I was put in contact with this source by an individual from Los Angeles (known by me) who had traveled to this NY network headquarters on business prior to my interview. The individual from Los Angeles had told this network source of my investigation and assured this source I could be trusted. Introductions were ultimately made.

On that date, this source agreed to talk only with the strict assurance of confidentiality, conditions to which I agreed. It is important to note that throughout this casual interview in a public venue, this source appeared to be extremely nervous and looked around more than appeared to be reasonably necessary. Nevertheless, this source seemed to be genuinely sincere, exhibiting no outward signs of deceptive behavior.

During the course of my interview, this source admitted knowledge of high level management meetings with certain on-air personalities about the "controversy surrounding Barack Hussein Obama's eligibility due to birthplace and citizenship questions." This source claimed to be present and in close proximity to one open door meeting between a corporate official and on-air personnel. My investigation confirmed that this source would normally have such access.

During this meeting, the official stated that he was ordered by "those at the top" to warn them against any reference to this [eligibility] issue. This statement was originally met with some apparent objections and there was "over talk," but this source clearly heard the official state: "This is serious, and so will the consequences be if anyone chooses not to be a team player with this."

There is more, but for now, I think you get the idea.

CNN, Fox News and NBC's offices and studios are all very near St. Patrick's Cathedral. I had a conversation with a Fox anchor months ago about this issue. The anchor, whom I will not identify, was well versed on the eligibility issue and seemed to agree with me, but said he could not discuss it on the air.

All of these hosts like to pretend that they take orders from no one, that no one would dare order them around. This is bovine scatology, pure and simple. As an example, many years ago I was in the office of the Program Director of WGY for a business meeting, when Mike Gallagher, who was a local afternoon-drive host at that station at the time, knocked timidly at the door. Far from being the bombastic blow-hard he portrays on the air (he was even more so, then), he said, "You wanted to see me, sir?" The PD dismissed him with a simple "later," and Gallagher skedaddled away. These people are just employees who want to keep their jobs.

We need to force the issue of the media coverup. Call the local and national talks shows you listen to, and keep bringing up the issue. Keep calling; flood their switchboards until they put you on the air or have no callers at all they can put on. Demand that they book guests like Douglas J. Hagmann, Joseph Farah of World Net Daily, attorneys Phil Berg and Dr. Orly Taitz, and li'l ol' me, Robert Jay March of MarchReport.com, to talk about this issue.

The left uses "seminar callers" all the time; we need to borrow the tactic. As it is, Pelosi and her minions have called the legitimate, grass-roots protests that have sprung up over Health Care and the Birth Certificate "astro-turf," and falsely claimed that those protests were orchestrated. Let's show them what real orchestration looks like.

The very survival of our democracy is at stake, for what has occurred is nothing less than a coup d'état, aided and abetted by those who are supposed to be the unfettered guardians of our freedom -- the press.

1,000 Cuts with Occam's Razor

Despite the fact that I am racially mixed (part Oriental); despite the fact that I have published both written columns and recorded podcasts wherein I have praised the American public for the truly color-blind vote cast last November, regardless of whether or not the victorious candidate is legally qualified to serve; despite the fact that I myself am among those who believe that The Constitution should be amended to permit Citizens who were not born on American soil to serve as President (but not retroactively); I still get hate mail accusing me of racism, or excluding me from the accusation, accusing my readers of it because of our inquiries as to whether or not Barack Obama is in compliance with Article II, Section I of The Constitution.

They seem to think that because we are concerned that the law be complied with, that must mean that we are actually racists who do not want a Black President. If Arnold Schwarzenegger had ignored The Constitution, run for President, and been elected, would it be racist to insist that he be removed?

Occam's Razor, attributed to 13th century Franciscan friar and philosopher, William of Ockham, is a concept in science that says the simplest of two or more competing theories is preferable, and that an explanation for unknown phenomena should first be attempted in terms of what is already known. In the simplest terms, this means that the simplest, most straight-forward answer is usually the correct answer.

Let's take what we know and analyze it logically.

  • Does the Constitution require that the President be born on American soil? YES.
  • As Chief Executive of The United States, is the President required to obey The Constitution? YES.
  • As a former Constitutional Lawyer, Does Barack Obama understand this requirement? YES.
  • Has Barack Obama proven that he meets this requirement? NO.
  • Have Obama's supporters claimed that Obama has released his birth Certificate? YES.
  • Has Barack Obama actually released his Birth Certificate (as opposed to the Hawaiian Certification, which is not a legal birth certificate)? NO.
  • Comparing the above two statements, are Obama's supporters lying? YES.
  • By definition, what do liars do? They tell lies.
  • Who claims that the so-called "Birthers" are racists? Obama's supporters.
  • Therefor, are the claims that "Birthers" are all racists a lie? YES.
  • If you apply for a driver's license, or other privilege where production of a birth certificate is required, and you refuse to produce it, will you be granted the license or privilege? NO.
  • Having "applied for" and won the Presidency, has Barack Obama provided the documentation to prove that he is entitled to it? NO.
  • What was the political orientation of the person who first brought the Birth Certificate issue to Phil Berg's attention? Far-left Democrat.
  • What is Phil Berg's Political Orientation? Liberal Democrat.
  • What is the author of this column, Robert Jay March's political orientation? Unaffiliated with any party. Conservative (not neo-Con) on Economic and Constitutional issues, Libertarian on social issues.
  • Are all "Birthers" Republicans? NO.
  • Given that Obama has refused to provide his birth Certificate, what is the logical course of action? He should be compelled to produce it or be removed from Office.
  • What happens if Obama is removed from office? In that event, legally, Joe Biden has been president since January 20, 2009, and every bill Obama has signed, unless also signed by Biden within the required time-frame, has been pocket-vetoed and is null-and-void; all appointments to Office made by Obama become null-and-void, because they were made by a man who was never President.
  • If Obama were removed, it would place Nancy Pelosi next in line to the Presidency. Should something happen to Joe Biden prior to the appointment and ratification of a new Vice President, Nancy Pelosi would become President. Do Obama's opponents consider this desirable? NO.
  • Therefore, are all "Birthers" political opponents of Obama? NO.

Applying Occam's Razor, the most likely, simplest explanation is that Barack Obama is not a natural-born citizen, and therefor not in compliance with Article II, Section I of The Constitution. He is ineligible to serve as President, and he knows it. That is why he will not release his birth certificate. A second, less likely explanation is that, although a natural-born citizen, he will not release his birth certificate because doing so would be acutely embarrassing for other reasons; so embarrassing that he is willing to stake his Presidency on concealing it.
