Excess Pounds May Lead To Longer Life

Being overweight won't kill you -- it may even help you live longer. That's the latest from a study that analyzed data on 11,326 Canadian adults, ages 25 and older, who were followed over a 12-year period. The report, published online last week in the journal Obesity, found that overall, people who were overweight but not obese -- defined as a body mass index of 25 to 29.9 -- were actually less likely to die than people of normal weight, defined as a B.M.I. of 18.5 to 24.9.By contrast, people who were underweight, with a B.M.I. under 18.5, were more likely to die than those of average weight. ...

TOPIC DISCUSSED:

Shepard Smith of FOX News claimed on Wednesday's "Studio B" that those of us investigating Certifi-Gate, the Obama Birth Certificate Scandal, are morally equivalent to James Von Brunn, the neo-Nazi white supremacist who shot two people at the Holocaust Museum.
     Among his remarks:
     "There's been a lot of hate since this President came into Office. He has been a uniting figure in so many ways. He has brought the youth of America together in so many ways. He has been inspirational to so many people. Yet there are a lot of people who have problems with an African American man as the President. People want to talk about, 'was he even an American citizen; where's his birth certificate?" That needs to Stop. It's preposterous ... The level of the hate being ratcheted up in so many different quarters, on so many different web sites, and otherwise for that matter, it sometimes feels like its a very dangerous thing."
     The Certifi-Gate page on MarchReport.com is the largest single repository of information on the Obama Birth Certificate Scandal anywhere on the internet. As such, the owner of the site felt a moral obligation to speak out. This podcast is Robert Jay March's response to Shepard Smith's Outrageous allegations of hate and racism against those of us who have the courage to defend our precious Constitution, and the basic journalistic skills to do fact checking: something Mr. Smith apparently does not know how to do. Nine months ago, Robert also was a disbeliever, but felt an obligation to those readers who had written in with alarm to check out the story, in order to assure his half-million subscribers that their fears were unfounded. He was shocked to discover that the stories were true, and reported back accordingly. Thus began Certifi-Gate.
     The Certifi-Gate Investigation and associated lawsuits are not about hate, racism, fear, or any other disingenuous motive. It is about defending the Constitution, the very foundation of our Republic.
     MarchReport.com issues this challenge to Shepard Smith: PROVE US WRONG. Check the facts ... objectively ... as would be done with any low-level politician, and, when you find the truth (as you will), report it to your viewers, and issue an apology to those of us who did the work first.

The former prime minister, in comments apparently delivered Wednesday to the professors and posted on one of his websites today, accused Iran's supreme leader of not acting in the interests of the country and said a dramatic change for the worse had taken place in Iran. ...

"Mr Obama made a mistake to say those things ... our question is why he fell into this trap and said things that previously (former president George W.) Iranian Doctor Says Militiaman Killed Protester Neda Soltan

An Iranian doctor who claims he tried to save Neda Agha Soltan as the young Iranian protester bled to death on the streets of Teheran said Thursday that she was shot by a member of Iran's pro-government Basij militia. Graphic cellphone footage of the 27-year-old's death, which shows her lying on the ground as blood pours from her mouth and nose, spread like wildfire throughout various media outlets, such as The March Report. This has made Soltan, whose first name means "voice" or "call" in Farsi, an international icon and a rallying cry for Iran's new revolutionaries. Dr. Arash Hejazi told the British Broadcasting Corp. that he was one of those men who tried to save her. ...

Access to Google has been disrupted in some parts of China, amid a row over what Chinese citizens should be allowed to view over the internet. Users reported they could not access either Google's search engine or its Chinese-language version. Bodies Of Air France Captain, Steward Found

About a dozen victims have been identified among roughly 50 bodies recovered from the crash of Flight 447, which killed 228 people on June 1, authorities in Brazil said this week. The Arab satellite TV station said it had received an audio statement from Al Qaeda of the Islamic Maghreb in which the group said 39-year-old Christopher Ervin Leggett was killed Tuesday for allegedly trying to convert Muslims to Christianity. "Two knights of the Islamic Maghreb succeeded Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. to kill the infidel American Christopher Leggett for his Christianizing activities," the group said. ...

In an 8-1 ruling, the justices said that Safford Middle School officials violated the Fourth Amendment ban on unreasonable searches with their treatment of Savana Redding. However, the court also ruled that the Arizona school officials cannot be held financially liable for their search. ...

Teen Busted With 53 Baby Birds

Police in Colorado have confiscated 53 baby birds from a 15-year-old boy who apparently took them from neighborhood nests and stored them in his bedroom. Police believe the boy had the birds for at least 24 hours. Authorities confiscated them on June 16 after his mother realized he had them and called animal control. "He and some other children in the neighborhood had been trying to feed them with little success," Longmont police Sgt. Dave Orr said. The birds included barn swallows, sparrows and a bluebird. ...

As a senator, Barack Obama denounced the Bush administration for holding "secret energy meetings" with oil executives at the White House. But last week public-interest groups were dismayed when his own administration rejected a Freedom of Information Act request for Secret Service logs showing the identities of coal executives who had visited the White House to discuss Obama's "clean coal" policies. One reason: the disclosure of such records might impinge on privileged "presidential communications." The refusal, approved by White House counsel Greg Craig's office, is the latest in a series of cases in which Obama officials have opted against public disclosure. I think it's interesting to note that while he didn't file a quo warranto regarding Obama's eligibility, he also never told anyone who wrote to him that Obama was actually eligible and that Obama had been properly vetted which was the canned response from all of Congress. The accusations are being assembled by the citizen grand juries that have been meeting in recent weeks around the country. "Sooner or later some court or many courts will formally indict Obama from our presentments or [a] complaint," he said. "Our goal is to convene and conclude 12 to 13 grand juries before July 4 rolls around and to serve our presentments as many as 200 times with courts, sheriffs, prosecutors, judges or legislators across the land. ...

2nd Congressman Demands That Obama Prove Eligibility

Virginia Republican Bob Goodlatte has signed on as a co-sponsor of H.R. 1503, putting a notice on his website that it's one of the efforts in which he's joining. H.R. 1503 would "require the principal campaign committee of a candidate for election to the office of president to include with the committee's statement of organization a copy of the candidate's birth certificate, together with such other documentation as may be necessary to establish that the candidate meets the qualifications for eligibility to the Office of President under the Constitution ... Those are legitimate constitutional concerns," George Cecala, a spokesman for Posey's office said. "Folks have brought the issue up, and the court really hasn't clarified. And I think American citizens have a right to have answers from their government." ...
